  1. Your dislike of Peter Lawrence is obvious. Aggrandisement ! Is that why he drove a bunch of our women players to Brisbane for a Final during the pandemic.? Is that why he’s given a small fortune to the Club? I urged you last week to read the Judgment in his case against the Club. those who have done so seem to have changed their mind. He’s actually achieved a great deal for the Club in forcing the Board to make seven sets of Rule changes . I gather that you and some other posters are concerned that in an earlier case he won the right to email club members ( who choose to receive Comms from MFC by email) with material in support of his candidature . No lawyer I know believes the Club should have contested that case . Stacks of similar organisations now recognise that such a result was inevitable . MFC should have offered to distribute his material , which likely would have solved the problem without litigation . I must say that reading the judgment, and then considering Roffey’s triumphalist statement , convince me that all is not well at Board level

Whilst critical of our president on the other matter I agree with you. Not appropriate for her to get involved on football issues
  3. Agreed. One of the best ever. Bennett was badly beaten by Hamilton, then that great coach Sheedy took Hamilton off firm and put Vanderhar on him. Bennett went mad!!!!!

I agree with you. By and large “ nuffies “ don’t get elected. But the Board was in the habit of selecting someone to fill a casual vacancy shortly before an AGM, instead of at the AGM. Its self appointed vetting committee would then endorse sitting Board members for the election. Just one example of a practice which IMV does not pass the smell test. Please read the judgment !

I urge you to read the judgment. Indeed I urge all of us to read it. It reveals a shameful history by the club admin. It reveals that in order to meet the absolutely reasonable claims by Lawrence, the Board adopted not 1, not 2 , not 3, but 7 sets of amended rules. It has made massive changes to Rules which were outrageous and oppressive . Whilst Lawrence has certainly been seeking a spot on the Board the changes now made will go some way to enabling ANY MEMBER to put his or her name forward. The Board set up a committee OF BOARD MEMBERS to vet applications by candidates to run for election . They gave way on this, the vetting committee now has a majority of independent members. the statement by Roffey suggests that the Club has an order for costs against Lawrence. It does not . There is NO ORDER FOR COSTS , the judge urging the parties to confer on this question. Again, just read the judgment , I suspect you will be shocked if you do .
  7. He does look a real replacement for Hibberd. Good preseason in 25 will be vital
  8. That’s correct. The suggestion that GC were disinterested is nonsense
  9. Too early yet. He’s still pretty ordinary below his knees. I recall when I first realised we had a gun in Luke Jackson, in a match v Cats in greasy conditions at the G his ball handling was sublime. Disco, nowhere near that level, his summer should be devoted to ground balls and also handball. He has missed a lot of hand passes this year. But I do like him a lot
  10. Might it be possible to cut a deal with ANB whereby he lives in Adelaide but plays for MFC.?
  11. I suspect medical advice would be that he still should not fly
  12. Didn’t Viney play?
  13. I think you intended to mention Hore, not Howe . Hore was bloody good, I rate him
  14. Wait another hour mate!
  15. Gawn pickett viney langdon petty salem
  16. Of course they do
  17. I think Cats missed the finals last year ! It happens. Pies likely to miss this year
  18. Bad miss at the end but Billings wasn’t bad tonight . Kolstrup will learn, he’s ok. Lever awfully disappointing all year
  19. Lever is half the player he was in 2021
  20. Absolutely agree!
  21. Well said ! And let me tell all of you that one day, in a practice match , with the ball 150m away, Lethal knocked out Laurie Fowler with the hardest punch I can ever recall, then he trotted off up the ground. Fowler carried off but no doubt he fronted up the following week . No action against Matthews. I recall it well. It was a pleasant autumn day and I persuaded my wife we should take the kids ( about 5 and 7) to watch a bit of footy in relaxed circumstances . And the king hit was about 15m from us . The said wife never attended again and forever doubted my judgment !
  22. Well , having only watched the match live I thought your comments about Langdon Bowey and Sparrow were surprising. Now I’ve seen replay and the stats I’m sure you were too harsh. And MonizWakefield after 5-6 games, convinces me that he will be a 200 game player. Apart from Viney and Oliver , both out of form in the middle, so too is Lever in defence. In fact he is nothing like the player he was in 2021
  23. I didn’t think we were half hearted Jack. Just outplayed . I liked the continued endeavour right till the end . You are dead right about one matter. Viney and Clayton trying so hard but just out of touch. Rivers the only decent midfielder at present and this alone explains why we are being thrashed in the middle
  24. I agree with Loges. I thought Laurie was ok. First game in midfield, give him more!
