I see Lewis as shadowing Bernie’s 2017-18. Lewis put together some good matches this year, but the pace in the legs has left him and the mind isn’t too far behind. Next season I see him, like Bernie this year, starting in the 1s, then moved out by the end of the season. By the looks of things, Jones may be in the same boat one year later.

Collingwood, Hawthorn, Geelong and Sydney have been able to retain genuinely good players from their previously successful sides through their rebuilds. This is a huge advantage and has seen players like Sidebottom and Pendlebury playing alongside Degoey and Grundy. We completely bottomed out of senior talent several times over the past twelve years. It is a huge advantage to start a ‘rebuild’ with quality senior players already in the line-up.

Grand statements like this would carry a lot more weight if they were posted prior to a big loss. Our gameplan has been lauded for the past four rounds... where were these observations then??

Horrible, just horrible. But... this does not undo the great spirit and football we’ve seen over past four rounds. This is an education on the intensity and ferocity need to take the next step. When the dust settles, we should all be very, very excited about next year.

I cannot for the life of me think of an easier 'open-and-shut case'... but they've completely botched it.

Not sure if this has been covered yet... Just received my Grand Final barcode int he mail today (Hong Kong). I am Priority 3 for the ballot, however my father and sister are Priority 2. The form says that if people want to sit together, you have to enter the ballot together. Does this mean that people with different priority level cannot sit together, or can we put our barcodes on the same booking and let the computer sort it all out..?
