I don't disagree entirely. I do see SOMETHING there though. I'd like to see one more year on the list - he has zero trade value anyway. (Not to mention there's still two thirds of this year remaining)

They go alright running repeat twenty yard sprints in 40 degree heat for days on end. The blame the diet outrage in this thread is baseless. The comment was that 'fad diets' have no place in professional, elite sport. There are however many examples where special 'fad' diets have very positive effects on elite sports men and women.

Australian Cricket team have been going alright the last 18 months...

So essentially, Neale Daniher's request for the 'toughest player in the draft' in 2001. We overlooked quite a few skinny, talented blokes for Luke Molan.
-
But that is the example of how inflexible rules on drafting a 'type' of player just doesn't work. Drafting is very, very hard.

Like Fyfe?

Was this antiRoos sentiment going around following the Gold Coast or Richmond wins? Or has it only sprung up after we play the three best teams in the league?

So you wouldn't have drafted Macrae? Disappointed we missed out on Mitch Robinson as a delisted free agent?? Everyone's a drafting genius in hindsight.
-
If he's actually as bad as you say he is, what pick do you think we'll actually get for him??

Lumumba reaction to Garland in last quarter
TeamPlayedFine39 replied to The Stigga's topic in Melbourne Demons
Probably just a very visible example of why Roos wanted Lamumba at the club. Have only heard very positive comments about his leadership and encouragement from the players this year. -
I'm just amazed how many people want to get Cale Morton back!
-
Yeah, it's the great unknown. I think we've drafted and traded quite well the last couple of drafts. There's two more draft/ trade/ free agency periods before Goodwin coaches his first game. If we can develop the young talent we've got, we'll improve quickly imho. But like I said- drafting and development is the great unknown.
-
Roos is doing the job that he was hired to do. He is building a culture from scratch after years of gross mismanagement. His work and role will be vindicated in the future. Goodwin will be hailed as a master-coach as the big infield improvements will take place under his watch. But that can't happen until a professional and elite culture is instilled in the organisation.

Because they panic?

That's hilarious and insightful! You should forward that to BT and the boys at Saturday night football... Women are just the worst aren't they?
-
End of the year is a long way away though- so we shouldn't really be cutting out loses now should we?
-
Talk of cutting out losses one third of the way through a season is ridiculous. He is our scapegoat and its tiresome and short sighted.
-
A very tough three weeks. For mine: Fremantle Sydney Hawthorn Then a fairly even pack after that; but the above three teams are talented, well coached, work as a unit and are big bodied and battled hardened. Two of these will feature in the last week of September.
-
Surely it is a little harder than you think otherwise those players would have gone at number one...
-
There are frustrations over the recruitment of Jimmy Toumpas and countless threads to air these in. The inclusion of Morton and the idea that some would redraft Cale Morton over having Toumpas is a little absurd. If Jimmy is moved on by the MFC at year's end he will definitely be on an AFL list next year. He needs time- maybe not with us, but someone will give it to him.
-
So you'd rather have Morton on the list than Toumpas..? Well, Cale's playing VFL this year so I'm sure he could be drafted pretty cheaply at the end of the year. As I don't think any of Jimmys short coming have anything to do with lack of effort, I'll stand by the MFC player.

Signed! Christian Petracca extends contract until end of 2018.
TeamPlayedFine39 replied to a topic in Melbourne Demons
He'll be training with the main group in 12 weeks but will not be playing at any level until next year. Should be fully fit for first day of preseason. -
Surely there must have been offensive posts that have since been deleted... If not- that's utterly ridiculous.

READY FOR THE KILL - THE HAWTHORN GAME
TeamPlayedFine39 replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'm not overwhelmed by the changes either. However, one thing these guys can do is get the ball. Yes I know most aren't fans of what they do with it, but the past two weeks we have literally struggled to touch the ball in the first quarters.- 322 replies
