GAMEDAY: Rd 18 vs Brisbane
Looks a far more balanced side on paper. Joel Smith would be important as sub. Can’t say I’m confident, but keen to see how we stack up. Ben Brown was torched a few times last week on the lead- lower the eyes lads!!! If we can win this and next week without Oliver, the media better start believing.. talking to you Buckley you skivvy wearing sook!!!

I would love to see Smith come in and play on Cameron. His tackling, pace and marking make him too good for Casey and I think he is actually a better backman. May and Petty to take Hipwood and Daniher. Lever to Gunston. JVR comes in for either Gawn or Grundy. 2 half ruckman/ half forwards is not what the team need. We need a bonafide forward and JVR can provide ruck assistance.

Garry Lyon analysis
I think we need to stack our half forward/midfield with our best ball users and have Brown, Petty and JVR forward (no Grundy) even if it means our small backs are compromised. Converting forward entries to goals is more important than soaking up opposition inside 50s. Need to attack harder than we defend. Exciting footy is contagious footy. We are like the Carlton team Mick Malthouse coached
