  1. you're right, he is our leading goal kicker. this year and was last year. I agree. keep him in
  2. interesting thoughts... although the hawks 'real' window opened from 2012 when their senior core got to 100-150 games (you could argue the 08 flag was early) so if we are tracking with them we might have to wait a few years
  3. not with you on this one. I dont see the large number of under 23 yo talent that we and dogs have. I suspect that the Saints will taper off in the next few years and be in no mans land for a while but then again I may be clouded by my hatred for them
  4. A few people have commented that we are on the up and seem to be like the dogs a couple years back, so I had a look and there are some similarities Dogs: they killed it at the draft from 2010 to 2013 - especially 2012 and 2013 2012 5 wins 2013 8 wins 2014 7 wins 2015 14 wins 2016 most likely 16 wins were very poor at time from 2012-2014, but from memory at the end of 2014 starting showing signs and their young players stood up (is that right?) Dees: did well at the draft from 2012 -2015 - especially 2014 (for those with a weak stomach do not look at our 2011 draft!) we all know our pathetic ladder position but now after 7 wins last year and likely 11 this year we are starting to beat good teams and are showing signs with our gun draft picks kicking on What does 2017 hold? for the first time in a decade, we have the capacity to make a decent assault on the finals and win more games than we lose. f-k i cant wait for next year anyway, back to 2016 and trying to sneaky into 8th spot! umm... feel free to comment. cheers. :-)
  5. 800k per year is fair coin was close to going to the dogs. Only other clubs he spoke to were pies and saints. Not dees from jake Niall
  6. I'd prefer to target a fwd who can ruck. In the Tippett mould. Gawn, spence and kings are enough pure ruck depth imo
  7. I wish I had your confidence, but I can sense a win for North coming. not sure why but North are due and will be fired up and its down in Tassie. what a let down that would be
  8. Can't remember enjoying an away game more - standing on the hill with the ferals - the stuff getting yelled out was actually quite funny at times there was a decent turn out by Dees fans - and the Port fans went quiet by 15 minutes in as you could sense how the game would go. The Casino was pumping with delerious Dees fans after the match. the last thing I remember is a dude in a Dees scarf getting kicked out of the palace for falling asleep/passing out on a chair
  9. its great that these 3 have come on but we still desperately need some more experience and leadership down back. Dunn and Garland not being considered anymore. If we get an injury or two to the Macs or Frost we are in trouble. Hurley can also play key fwd when needed which could be handy
  10. yeah it was a late strike to the head. soft sniping effort. he'll miss a week or maybe 2
  11. agree to disagree. those guys didnt star but weren't lacking effort. Pedos presence and contest in the air was good - its important to have a big, seasoned body in the fwd line. Harmes and VDB played their role and have some runs on the board as far as their application to the contest goes. VDB 6 tackles, 5 score involvement, 2 assists did okay IMO and Harmes was good last week.
  12. We just beat Port away by 40. we had no passengers or poor players and everyone played their role. Unless there is a star player out of the side, or someone gets injured, no change so no change
  13. He'll be off to freo. Pedo is a better player
  14. 5th for Clangers and 11th for dispoal effeciency. probably not too much of a surprise there on the positive side we are 3rd for goal kicking accuracy im just on the AFL website, not bad but not great either
  15. we really did a number on that draft. almost like we picked poor players on purpose What could have been.....
  16. Random stats for the week - wasn't sure where to post this: We are 4th overall for average contested possessions (150) this year in the AFL - behind Sydney, Crows and GWS 3rd overall for clearances behind Sydney and GWS 5th overall for average tackles No 1 for average hit outs (Obvs) Great efforts by the coaches and players. What a turnaround its been since 2013
  17. Surely Hogan would sign for longer than 2 years unless the media attention really does not bother him. it started 2 years out this time, might start 3 years out next time which would be at the end of next year! sign on for 4 yrs plus Jesse!
  18. I think we might lose this one. Port are rightly favourites being at home and having beaten us regularly. both teams and up and down and I think Port will be up and we'll be down. hope I'm wrong as Im flying over tomorrow prove me wrong Dees!
  19. Agree Fidgey, they need to get creative that Little Hunt? J-Hun? okay maybe Hunty will do
  20. Fyfe would be good depth for our midfield. im not agianst it
  21. Viney should win it. he has been so consistent and Gawny had a quiet patch. Gawn will be second then Jonesy. then a fair gap great to have 4-5 worthy winners for once!
  22. are people actually debating whether to bring in Hogan if fit? seriously he is our top goal scored and one of the first picked. He is in if fit. just need to figure out who to drop I would drop Weeds as he was fully knackered in the fourth. bring him back in for the blues
  23. I'll see you there mate. ill be the other guy with a Dees scarf on standing on the hill hope we make it out of there alive!
  24. The most pleasing thing from the win was how hard and tough we were. Mitchell I reckon was targeted - every time he went near it he was tackled and then crunched. we finally have confidence! fend off against hodge? a double fend off? We tackled like animals, in packs, led by Viney. I have never been prouder of the Dees. The Hawks resorted to sniper and cheap hits to try to intimidate us, which would have worked in the past.
