  1. you can make statistical observations- i mean thats how they do tv ratings and election polls however i think given the way footy is split (10 teams in vic and only 1 or 2 in each other city, these statistical things are a bit hard. fwiw tho, i did like the one showing that collingwood fans shopped at dimmeys and forgers
  2. given that you have named 3 of our back 6 its probably at least a 50-50 bet
  3. but i would like someone who was there to elaborate more on this...he is 192 cm 92 kg, he is only just 23. for comparision sake ferguson is 25 turning 26 this year... what type of role did he play in the midfield? how was his disposal?
  4. im guessing rogue was referring to these quotes:
  5. given that 24 thousand people were interviewed how many were interview where? if the split was even between population then the survey could be accurate. remember, almost every person in sydney is going to say the swans. i don't put much credence in these stats.
  6. now that brock has his 50 games up there will never be a repeat of yze tossing the coin and running to the bench
  7. but we have to crucify him on a thursday so he can rise on the weekend?
  8. my dad is a dees man. i assume thats why i am. if/when i have kids, they be dees kids too. or there will be no kids. take that.
  9. "Since the start of 2006, Judd has been No. 1 for points earned per minute on the park with an average of 1.28. McLean has been second with 1.27. There is daylight to third." thats a very telling stat for anyone who says that one player isnt a massive loss. he just gets so much quality ball, we need him fit and on the park.
  10. as long as he doesnt hook up with the likes of that swedish girl from sydney...she may be a looker but we want him playing for years to come...
  11. out of interest, the stats down the bottom are crap. unless the results are modified statistically to include the standard deviations etc they mean nothing. 18% more likely? would fall well within one standard deviation, making the stat pointless...
  12. don't be silly of course he is. there hasnt been so much talk about a kid before he had played a game since jesus
  13. ah the good old champion team vs a team of champions debate? i thought australia settled that in october a couple of years ago in the cricket?
  14. maybe she should post some pictures lol
  15. you dont rate newton? based on what? he is young, has great hands and a fantastic leap. he is averaging 3 goals per game this year in the sandy firsts where he is not the number one target. he has shown he can play at FF, CHF, HFF or on the wing. what don't you like? and have you actually seen him play occo?
  16. im glad i wasn't the only person who had to read that post a couple of times.
  17. but bell has been amongst our best most of this year? except the WC game of course, where it is safe to say we didnt need to list a best... miller has been in our best prob 3 times this year as well. but when he hasnt been listed in our best he has been horrible-not getting a touch at all and making terrible decisions. when bell hasnt been in our best couple he has still played a servicable game and had not many kicked on him.
  18. do you think that in 3 years miller will be our starting CHF while bate starts on the interchange?
  19. well said... if we were sitting 3rd or 4th thinking about a GF he would be in the side straight away...
  20. out of interest, both sautnre and juice have played 9 games each this season. sautner has kicked 31 goals to newtons 26. im pretty happy with that from newton given he has spent time on a wing and further up the ground yet still averages 3 goals per game.
  21. lol just joshin ya. but in all honesty, i dont care what they do at away games as long as they make ALL homegames they can. crowds at away games are good, but no where near as important...
  22. given conditions maybe the hangers weren't the best idea, but newton has said that ND encourages him to keep flying
  23. at least they are now being honest about clint. any word what is actually the problem? fwiw i still dont believe rivers or moloney, but at least they are now giving a definitely time frame rather than 1-2 or 2-3...
  24. wouldnt surprise me. im sure someone said he was being rested from sandy so he'll be fresh this week...
  25. i wonder how many threads in the history of demonland have had this many posts? old fwiw i agree with you on this one. he did play well then, and that sort of ground suits him. he is least suited to geelong, adelaide and sydney (and i spose TD). the problem is while he may have played good games, he has never influenced a result has he? (with the possible exception of that game against richmond, however even that day neita booted 6 goals, two more than he). miller looks like he could get 15 touches and kick a couple and be servicable. i think thats a key point. EDIT: in that game against richmond, robertson also kicked 2 goals 5 behinds, so it was a pretty good day for our tall forwards. however miller managed to pick up 2 brownlow votes. (although nathan brown picked up 3 votes with 21 disposals and a goal, while cam bruce had the pill 33 times for the 1 vote)
