  1. Nathan Jones definitely needs to approach the umpires at half time. This is farcical and I'm sick of Hawthorn getting away with this [censored]. It's like there is such an aura around their players that they think they're immune to making mistakes, so the umpires never pay anything against them. Cyril's throw could not have been more obvious, and that's just one example.
  2. Would love to see how many free kicks the Hawks have had directly in front of goal, compared to us.
  3. THESE UMPIRES ARE CORRUPT [censored]! THEY "MISS" EVERYTHING THAT ISN'T A HAWTHORN FREE KICK!
  4. In fairness, it's hard to lead when he's playing in the midfield (like last week). Bizarre stuff, that was.
  5. Weirdly, something similar happened in Geelong last year. We radically changed our structure with less reliance on the single key forward, making us far less predictable. Seems to be working here.
  6. That was the best quarter of footy we've played all year. Imagine when we start playing like this consistently with our younger players averaging 50+ games!
  7. So let me get this right. We've scored every goal without a single assist from the umpires, while Hawthorn have gotten 2 of theirs from free kicks. Just the usual Hawthorn umpiring then.
  8. Oh [censored] off umps, any danger we could get such generous umpiring during games?
  9. Hopefully the podcast will go up on their website because it was great but melancholic listening. Andrew seems like a really deep thinker about the game. He lamented why Jack's found it hard to perform with the changing style of AFL footy. All his attributes when drafted (skill with the ball) changed when Worsfold and Roos turned the game into a heavily contested, "Rugby style" affair, which simply was never in Jack's nature, making it hard for him to adjust once drafted. Referred to how godawful our scoring was last year (lowest in 70 years or something) and how often we kick it on Dawes' head when he has 3 players hanging off him, all the while Watts is free but ignored. How previous coaching groups kept telling him to be "like Chris Judd," but Jack kept saying he didn't want to be Chris Judd, he wanted to be Jack Watts. Caro said how horrible his debut game must have been to watch, which Andrew immediately corrected by saying it was fantastic to see his son play AFL regardless of what happened. Praised the club drafting another similarly extroverted player in Petracca, who is always positive, loves making friends and being the life of the party. No one on Demonland plays for the Dees either. Guess you shouldn't care what anyone here has to say, either.
  10. Finding this interview with Jack's dad a little bit sad. More than a few home thruths about where the club's been, the mistakes we've made, and hardly the gushing platitudes and PR spin you usually hear. Refreshing, actually.
  11. And then get replaced in the side by Dawes next week.
  12. Remember how the sky was falling last year when Hogan was out for Geelong? Look how that ended up. Actually not feeling too bad today, especially knowing Hawthorn have dropped Frawley for a debutante.
  13. Ben Ainsworth is playing for us this weekend? That's great that he's on our radar (though whose radar isn't he on?)
  14. Bugg in to tag Mitchell, thank Christ our coaches learned from the effective tactics of other teams. Also, Truck, Brayshaw and Oliver together? ZOMG. Awe. Some.
  15. A first rounder for Hibberd!? Christ, it was clearly more than TB4 in those vials!
  16. Gosh, it's just so, so Richmond to do this. And so, so Richmond to continue wallowing in their own misery for another 12 months. A clueless club who can't admit where their list is at and refuses to stop topping up with questionable recruits. Prestia's a gun but sacrificing pick 5-6 for an injury riddled midfielder is a laughably poor list management decision.
  17. Agreed, he nearly retired a few years ago and wanted to return to his family. I think he'd be fairly fed up with the ongoing saga that is Richmond the basketcase; not surprised if he's regretting his decision to re-sign.
  18. It's clearly too much to ask of this team to just have one player stand up and be a match winner, just once in a while. Hell, once a year would satisfy me!
  19. I don't know what it is though, but we are incapable of actually putting it on the scoreboard. Just look at last week, 30 more Inside 50s yet we lost by 6 points. We won't go anywhere as a team until the coaches work out how to convert midfield domination into scoring.
  20. Looks like, yet again, Match Committee (aka Paul Roos) failed with selection. ANB dropped for an out-of-form, injured VDB. Going well so far Roosy. Don't you dare utter the term, "banging the door down in the seconds," ever again.
  21. There are serious problems with whatever the [censored] our coaches are teaching these players because IT IS CLEARLY NOT WORKING.
