The two are in contact regularly from what I've heard.

Fox Footy conceding that, while gushing for Rance's game tonight, the only player all year who has towelled him up was Hulk Hogan.

Cotchin: "I do my best work when I'm aggressive and hard at the ball." You mean, when you duck your head and milk for frees?
-
Last night: 15 free kicks. Tonight: 55 free kicks. Gee whiz, what a surprise considering the two teams who played. They both get questionable, bizarre, soft and laughable free kicks paid to them at clutch moments. Must have been quite the dilemma for the umps tonight about who to favour.
-
Stiff competition, been some absolute duds with Brisbane and Carlton. Wet weather footy doesn't have to be dull though, just look at last night. The problem is the teams playing tonight; Carlton are hot garbage and the honeymoon period is over, while Richmond are thoroughly overrated. They play like garbage against crap teams and only turn up against the good ones; poor culture.
-
What a moronic situation tonight. Navy blues in dark blue (essentially black) against Richmond in black and a thin yellow strip. AFL is run by morons.
-
Just another Friday night Carlton special, then. Certainly unexciting compared to every Thursday night game the last month. They've been fantastic.

How did we beat Richmond AND the umpires?

BT was also in love with the "large particles... of liquid." Thankfully it wasn't mentioned in the same sentence as "The Package."

It'll depend entirely on what Taylor has lined up in the draft and what players we're working on to move to the MFC. We won't delist and payout (ala Evans) unless we think the draft goes deep or need the list space.

Yep, $100 fine.

Overheard an amusing response from one young man with the initials J.O'M when asked about the possibility of joining Essendon. The two-word response was priceless. Suffice to say nobody with self-respect will be heading to that team in a hurry, hence the delisted rejects they're picking up instead.

Lazy game for Wines. 34 disposals, 9 clearances, 10 tackles, 5 i50.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 15
SaberFang replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
JKH doesn't even need to score that much, he just needs to be dangerous in space and throw the Bombers off guard by creating options. -
The entire Seven commentary team give me the shits. Bruce and his rhetorical questions. BT and his, frankly, bizarre comments. Richo can't say anything controversial to save himself. Watson with his incapacity to be objective. Lingy and his capacity to state the bleeding obvious. Darcy, like a politician, says a lot but doesn't say anything.

For a preview of Saturday afternoon's slogfest, tune into Seven tonight. Going to need to contest the hell of that ball and run like hell if we want to get the 4 points.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 15

Would be shocked if one of Stretch, ANB or Harmes aren't sub. Vanders will be the most likely candidate to be subbed off if his match fitness isn't up to scratch, but frankly he can just hang around in the forward line all game and crash and bash for Garlett/JKH. -
Wow! Didn't know much about this kid before reading this thread, but he sounds bloody hard working and mature for his age. Good luck on Saturday kid!

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 15

Are those good, bad, inept, worrying changes for Essendon? -
Apparently up to 6 changes at Essendon. Bugger, wanted to play the out of form duds from last week. Laverde will likely debut though.
-
Haha, clearly the stats gurus were quite selective in how far back they went to find this stat. No doubt a Bombers supporter clutching at straws.
-
Interesting (and disheartening) stat: the last 5 times a team has lost by 100+ points, 4 of 5 have come back the following week with a win (and the 5th was a draw). Fortunately nobody at the club is taking this match lightly, especially against a team with as much pride as Essendon.

He reminds me of those types that try to burgle a house, end up injuring themselves, then sue the house's owners for damages.

We accomplished the single best passage of play last year to get that win. I certainly haven't forgotten it but neither would the Bombers. Would be interesting to know the last time we started favourites and actually won, other than some pointless GWS match in their inaugural year. I don't think anyone was confident pre-game about any of our wins this year so any game that appears a shoe-in should be approached with great trepidation. I'd certainly rather it wasn't in wet weather; we've demonstrated we can be high scoring while the Bombers have no effective forwards (Carlisle injured, Daniher... is Daniher). The wet weather probably works in their favour as it could become a grind (ala Brisbane v Fremantle where the Lions almost got the chocolates).
