  1. Love the comparison to "SOMEONE ALL DEMON SUPPORTERS WILL KNOW" Ollie Wines. Nothing article.
  2. I'm not sure Simon Goodwin will be too happy about this development.
  3. There's nothing stopping us. My feeling is that another club has beaten us to the punch and made him an offer he can't refuse. (I'm not sure if we had any interest in the first place.)
  4. I just read rpfc's post. He can be signed as a delisted FA. Surely he won't chance his arm in the draft. My bet is he has an offer on the table and a destination already determined.
  5. Is he not a delisted FA? What's stopping any club from signing him?
  6. He looks a goer. (It was tough re-watching the highlights from that first game.)
  7. We got 56,910 when we played them earlier this year on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon. We'd both need to make solid starts to get 70,000, but it's certainly not out of the question.
  8. After 40 days he went for his first run last week. He pulled up well and will be right to go from day 1 of preseason.
  9. No thanks. Endurance runner, but provides little else. Ordinary disposal. Just a run-with player. He would be a very slight upgrade on Jordie McKenzie/Aidan Riley who are contracted for next year. Wouldn't mind having a look at Mitch Brown though.
  10. If the whispers about us going after at least 2 big fish is correct that salary cap space will run out very quickly.
  11. He will not get far more by staying at MFC. Jones is craving success. He will see the big picture. He will know that by him accepting $100 to $200K less than what he might be worth it could help us in small part to land a big fish.
  12. I wouldn't be sure about the Saints using #1 on McCartin. It sounds like rival clubs will be going thick and fast to try and take it off their hands tomorrow.
  13. Adam Treloar will be the premier mid in the comp in 2-3 years time.
  14. I agree. I rate this boy very highly. He needs to build his tank but he'll get there.
  15. If we trade Trenners it could lead to the heart being ripped out of the team which could lead to us struggling on the field next year and then to senior players wanting to leave to play in successful teams. Oh wait...
  16. Not interested in a genuine A-GRADE mid with 8 years of footy left in him? Ok.
  17. I can't give you too many examples of ANYTHING our club has done right in the last 50 years.
  18. What do people think our players are actually worth, in terms of a draft pick? If I was trading for Trenners I wouldn't give up anything more than pick 25 for him. About the same for Toump. Watts is too subjective. I'm not touching that one. We'll be lucky to get a tatts ticket for Blease, Strauss or Tappy. I wish people would stop telling us what these blokes cost us at the draft. It's about what they're worth now.
  19. Fair call UH. The player has to agree to any trade. I'm sure Roosy would be happy to keep JT if he decided Richmond wasn't right for him. You're right though. News like that would not be exactly what Jack would initially want to hear. Might be the best thing for all parties though.
  20. We're not forcing him to move. We outlined a proposal to him that Richmond put forward. The ball is in his court. If I'm Jack I'd be thinking that with everything that he's been through at MFC a move might not be such a bad thing.
  21. In trading terms pick 23 doesn't get you anywhere near as much as what 12 might. Trenners is not worth 12 by himself. Christenson from Geelong is being traded out for #21. I know he has issues but he has far more to offer than Trenners.
  22. We need a poll. Not that it would achieve much. It's up to Trenners now. Anyone who thinks trading JT out for pick 12 which could be used in a further deal or at the draft would not help our list is not looking at this rationally. We are desperate to get better. We are a million miles off the pace. This type of deal is a neccessary evil.
