would still like to see one last big interview with him. I think the club and Clark owe the supporters the full story for a bit of closure to a long running saga that to be honest we have been kept mostly in the dark on. No dis-respect to Mitch, he needs to do what is best for him and his family and at the end of the day Football is just a job for the players and a short term one at that. I wish him all the best in his recovery and photography endeavours, but as an investor to this club, both financially and emotionally I think we all deserve the full story.

The real problem isn't that we are missing the KPP's it the that after the first 10 preferred players on the list are picked the quality of player takes a nose dive. Great teams are judge by the quality of the 22nd picked player and we just don't have any depth past our top 10 players (when fit and available)

Here's a fun fact for the day, Josh Kelly from GWS was the 16th player to be nominated for the AFL Rising Star Award whilst playing against Melbourne since 2007. Yes I have too much time on my hands to have actually looked that up but I just always keep noticing when an opposition youngster plays a blinder against us and cant help but wonder, why don't any of our high draft pick do this? These kids have been in the system as long as ours, they come from the same place (TAC Cup, state carnival, draft camp) just a few months before. Why aren't our boys able to step out on the field and make the footy world take notice? What is it about wearing a Melbourne jumper that weighs down a kid so much even though he wasn't there through all the previous bad times?

I really think that Trengove has been "over coached" and tries too hard to toe the company line. He has spent so long trying to make sure he does what he has been told and play the game plan to the letter of the law that he has forgotten how to play on instinct and do the things that had him universally touted as a top 2 draft pick back in 09. He just seemed such a better player under Bails and when Neeld came in and dumped the captaincy on him he just seemed to take it on himself to be the player the coach wanted everyone to be. Problem was the coach was a moron and damaged the club and Trenners almost beyond repair. Maybe he just needs his mate $cully back. They did seem to play their best footy together.

I don't think Hawthorne culture has anything to do with it. This kid was red flagged back in his junior days, its why no one drafted him last year despite his obvious talent. He simply just isn't ready to be a professional sportsman. He just need to go home and work out what he really wants to do in life and go after it with some purpose. Good on Hawthorne for giving him a crack at it but I don't think any club could have done any better with the kid who just isn't up to it.

Why is everyone comparing a kid who has played ONE game of football to a kid who hasn't had a run yet and screaming that we made the wrong choice? How the hell would anyone know anything yet? Surely this is a conversation that can wait till both kids have 70-80 games under their belt
