  1. Once again the stuff in the press is speculation. Its a bigger worry MFC supporters have been observed by Sylvia out and about drunk, at some stage or another. FWIW, I dont put a lot of weight on some of the late night claims of posters on this site <_< I dont see how we can validly judge his character at all.......without speculation.
  2. The greatest problem surrounding Colin Sylvia is the level of speculation used a invalid proxy for actual facts in judging what he might or might not have done.
  3. That's the spirit. It sends an important positive message to MFC and it helps the Club big time. Win Win. Well done!
  4. Latest Mail is that neither the Press nor the Dland and Ology posters have any clue about what is actually happening in the coach recruitment process.
  5. He contests the charge. Loses and he gets 8 weeks! I am not sure the Pies would have as a precedent to overcome the tribunal's interpretation of ""severe". There is a bigger risk that the AFL will want to make a statement about this sort of incident. If they had any sense then they would zip it and take the early plea of six weeks. See you in 2008 Ben!
  6. If you want to remove the smear of tanking, you need to remove the nexus between the outcome and reward. In other abolish/reduce the automatic entitlement to a priority pick when you win less than a certain number of games.
  7. Firstly, last years superdraft has yet to establish itself beyond the hype! Secondly, how do you know other clubs were gladly trading picks in the superdraft for established and more often NQ players? Thirdly, the decision may be to clean out players but not necessarily select any more young players than we would have other wise. Finally, how do you know how this draft will turn out?
  8. They are on those salaries now in 2007. Neither are certainly worth it. Both should be gone next year.
  9. Or to a turnover? Position is negligible if players dont run to make it. Unfortunately he is not damaging. And quite often Bizzell ends up with about half the possessions of his direct opponent and the team suffers.
  10. If we got offered that for him, I would take it in an instant! Unfortunatety he aint worth it If he is on large dollars (He was 2003 to 2005, I dont think he is now), do you think a club will gladly pay the full sum of that when Yze's value has deteriorated further since 2005. Spot on.
  11. Its an easy bit of carping. When both players were re signed, it was three years for both or they would have gone to the PSD and the Club gets nothing for them. I would have let Bizzell go back then. Yze has been questionable over the past 2 years and possibly would have let him go then. But thats just me and its easy to makes those calls unaccountable of the issues in the inner sanctum. If we dispense with Pickett (rumoured $300k p.a.) and Bizzell (rumoured $250k p.a.) at year end then I think we use that money better.
  12. Well said Fan. I dont see him changing and on the basis see him as a fringe AFL player next year. I hope he does better than that. I was hoping that for the past 3 years from Yze and have been disappointed with his output.
  13. Correct Graz. Yze is not worth a cracker to another club. Unless he retires (I doubt it) he will finish 2008 on the MFC list.
  14. Yep. You are right there Nasher.
  15. What was his other viable option pu the ground? Can you name it? With 5 minutes to go MFC injured team stopped to a walk. They were spent. Every player who had the ball and looked for optinos up the ground had none to kick to. Your summation of Brown looseness really makes your idolisation of Bizzell bizarre to say the least.
  16. If his shoulder is up to it and Holland is keen, given the logjam of ordinary footballers to come off our list surely a player who has shown he can pinch hit a both ends of the ground effectively and can take contested pack marks is worth another year. Unbelievable the write. I could name 10 to 12 players that should go before Holland.
  17. Where have I stated that? Misrepresenting someones point of view is akin to not being able to support your own. <_< I have said I hope he turns it around in 2008. I just cant believe the shallow excuses for what is really poor form. Its even sillier when people hold his pre 2007 form up. He has been crud in 2007. FWIW, Nathan Brown receives it far worse than McLean. FCS he has been BOG or close to it in the past two weeks. Amazing.
  18. Some people would never work out what hypocrite means in a lifetime! Brock has had a poor year. He is still got the potential to be a very good player for us. He needs to produce next year
  19. Arguably in our best tonight like last week. Gave for four quarters like Nathan Jones. Why does Brown always get no recognition while other more vaunted players who go missing in action are not held accountable? Well down Dogga. Finishing your career in grand style
