  1. Well done fatty. That's exactly the point. Its obviously too hard for some.
  2. Once again you said the premiership. I never said it would promise a premiership. But our list will be better off with a priority pick at about 17 than not. Its easy. At least I thought so. Say it in the mirror.
  3. Fully agree. Go Byron go at the end of the year.
  4. How would you know what Sheedy wanted? And does not that damn your argument that Pickett requires someone else to motivate him when he cant motivate himself beyond his Club XVIII demenour?
  5. Let me see an overweight, undisciplined lazy and unfit footballer with a disdain for the team rules and a crap attitude. Need lots of those!
  6. Where was that said? The words is enlightening and apology accepted.
  7. Bollocks! The way to developing a winning culture is to assemble a talented list of players who are committed week in, week out to team rules and team discipline. Compare us to Sydney in 2005/2006. We have the culture of a wobbling jelly. You are completely wrong on St K, Sydney and WCE. St Kilda did enjoy success from the high draft picks they had. They just did not win a flag. The quaity of their list was not the issue. Hawthorn are starting to do the same. WCE did it too. As did WB. The Swans have built a list around a great trade in Hall and O'Loughlin and Kenneally and have traded their youth for players for the now...Jolly. Everitt and Richards. As Hall and O'Loughlin retire Sydney will cave in and Roos knows and will leave. WCE have recruited and traded well and their efforts with the rookie list have been outstanding. If we win beat Pies or Freo then R22 should be a win.
  8. Big deal. When you are fat and puffing you intimidate only your dietician. I want someone who can consistently win the ball week in week out, maintain fitness standards, has the attitude and desire to win and abides by team rules. Pickett fails or breaches them all.
  9. We're truly stuffed then. With the exception of Hayes (who is still a rookie for next year), the others should probably go but they in no way strengthen the case for the other 3.
  10. I will explain it. If we have four wins at year end, we would likely finish 15th then we are entitled to the following picks before trades: 2,18,19,35,51,69. If we have five or more wins at year end, we would likely finish 14th, lose the 2nd round priority pick then we are entitled to the following picks before trades: 4,20,36,52,70. You dont think its a big deal? I forgot we will re-sign Bizzell, Pickett and Yze on long contracts at year end....No worries we'll be right! And you want to win?
  11. I have not seen the young for young sake argument put by anyone here. I dont see how Neaves, Garland and Bode are competing for the position that Yze, Bizzell and Pickett play. So I dont see the relevance of the comparison as to why aging diminishing and one case completely unprofessional footballers should be maintained.
  12. I have no problem with your de lists. But if you are playing to win how are we going to achieve it with... 1. A fat and overweight Garfield shaped midfielder that cant run out a game, cannot commit to basic pre season training and cheats his teammates by not fronting to a game because he is too hungover. Pathetic 2. A talented player who for years has compromised the delivery of that talent by being lazy, uncommitted to a contest and offers no defensive pressure on his direct opponent and is unaccountable. 3. A third up defender who lacks pace and is limited overhead and is perennially unaccountable for his opponent. You cherish the mediocre and then wonder why we lose.... Pickett, Yze and Bizzell are well past their best. Its not 30+ bashing. I'm one of them. Its reality and recognition that if this club is going to succeed it must not only address the list issues but changing the soft and down hill skiing culture we have. Yze has another year. Pickett should go. Bizz may stay as depth for next year. They are not our future and not the basis for rebounding this side.
  13. Two players who are NQR cant get a regular team and have no trade value would be of value to whom?
  14. We win another game and we lose draft pick 18 or the relevant second round priority pick. (Assuming Carlton does not win another game this year.)
  15. He played in 2007 like he has already made up his mind. He wont be extended beyond 2008.
  16. Yze is contracted in 2008. Holland will be with us next year. Brown will retire at season's end. Many of the delists will be below the age of 29.
  17. Brown was close to BOG. Its a harsh call. While Bode just went. If you want to win against the Pies, you drop them. On the other hand if you want to lose........
  18. Which player is that "Champ"? For players that are on the MFC fringe, the inability to be prominent in a VFL game is not a good sign especially when for some of them its been consecutive weeks. And its only a sign in the absence of further information. What is your problem?
  19. Its a good result given they beat Sandy at TBO last time. And Sandy had a weaker side this time at least on paper than when they last played. Its disappointing that Some MFC listed players did not feature more in the best. Not a good sign at all for a couple of players. To do what??
  20. Cooney is miles ahead of Walker, McLean and Sylvia. He has shown he can play at the top level. On the other hand, McLean mysterious cant throw a tagger. And injury aside, Sylvia has yet to produce. It will be McLean's and Sylvia's fifth year next year, Bell will be in his sixth year. FCS, those three must deliver more and consistently. So far, all issues considered, the return on the investment in any of those three has not been high.
  21. He has missed nearly 2 years of footy with OP. FCS, we should give him every opportunity to feel the leather in a match when he is physically capable of doing so. He has missed so much footy that to miss more he would have to re learn it out of a textbook.
  22. Not every trade involves a Jonathan Hay scenario. He is a 26yo NQR player in a bottom rung side. Why would any club sacrifice its youth for him?
  23. That would be the least of his problems. But at 26, what body size is he likely to be.
  24. He is ordinary. Courage does not hide his shortfalls. He is gone at year end.
