  1. He be wont anything if he's spooked. The Age reported that he shirked it. Every side will be out to put him to the test. No excuses when its your turn to go ....you go. For the poster who said that Voss shirked it... Voss's defintion of shirking it would be another players fearless attack on the ball.
  2. Best game so far. Outstanding. Flogged Jolly and "Molly" easily.
  3. I dont have to jump to unreasonable and unfounded speculation. They are both in the rehab/revcovery process and they wont be rushed. That's in the public domain.
  4. Another pointless and incorrect umpire bleat. Good grief. Scully and Trengove made errors yesterday and got pinged for it. Lets hope they learn from it quicker than our supporters do.
  5. Maybe if you didnt cook these odd reasons in your heads. Shame on the club for making you do that.
  6. He rucked against the limpest ruck going around in Fraser. What a marshmallow performance from a former No 1 pick. Zero effor. We were KOTD that MFC were not more exposed in that area. Jury is out on Newton IMO.
  7. We actually played the attacking type of football Bailey has been trying to instil into the players. It was aggressive hard running and well executed (finally). MFC recognises that the team is still in a development phase and together with stirring performances there will be difficult performances. They have apppointed Bailey for 2 years in recognition of that. Too many supporters dont realise this.
  8. It was also on display last week. For all the carp Bailey has copped last week he deserves all the accolades this week that those torch bearing critics pounded their feeble chests about. Credit where credit is due. Ok gotcha..so when we play well its the players and when we play badly its the coach. Its the whole process that has occurred since the loss to Hawthorn. Both coach and players. Of coursse you need to have a game plan and have the discipline and effort to carry it out. That is what was on show yesterday.
  9. Together with his end of season jolly to Ireland some years ago plus the above, he really does have a wonderful pedigree to coach AFL. Honestly the guy has said before he has no interest in coaching. He has made no effort to get a proper coaching fixture, has no viable coaching experience since he retired and he has not played AFL for 11 seasons. If DB is not the person for MFC at the end of 2011, then surely but surely we would look a coach with more on his CV than Lyon. Ultimate "jobs for the boys" appointment if it occurs. He is better off staying in the media.
  10. Add Strauss not manning up on Anthony in the last 10 minutes and Anthony took an uncontested mark and goaled from short range. Absolute Rubbish. We lost it yesterday through silly errors. As another poster said we were a couple of goals better than them. Terrific effort by the team but geez they have to nailed the opportunities that arise (re Leon Davis). Ultimate cop out. The bleating about umpires on this site and by Collingwood is misplaced and naive. We should have beaten them. You can be pleased with the performance but satisfied... no.
  11. Agree. Re his ruckwork, he was up against Flopsy Fraser. And neither made an impression. Is there a more softpuss big man than Fraser? For a former No 1 draft pick, he is underwhelming to say the least.
  12. We must have been sitting beside each other. My neanderthal einsteins behind me said after the game that MFC were lucky the margin wasnt more!!
  13. Not good enough and today did little to change that. Neither Miller or Newton will be on the list in 2011.
  14. No he isnt. Bennell got spooked and it cost the team plenty. Bruce was poor early, cost us a goal but was steady later. But I am no fan of Bruce's.
  15. Questions still remain on him By default only
  16. When its your turn to go...you go... no ifs buts or maybes. There is no other way. He did liven up the forward line but he is touch timid for mine. I trust Sean Wellman will have a word to him about granting another 7-8 metres space where Anthony was goalside of him with no MFC defenders behind and Collingwood attacking. Poor judgement and lack of experience and Anthony goaled. Ugh In Sylvia Out Bartram
  17. 6. Davey 5. McKenzie 4. Jamar 3. Petterd 2. Grimes 1. Green
  18. Might that be the players not moving the ball on. Unless you think we were tanking, its hard to claim that Bailey told them to hold onto the ball when we were behind and time ticking. How about if a few players in the 2nd half actually nailed gettable goals. Bennell, Bail, Dunn (did he have to go for the mark?). Tactically I thought Bailey had a good day. - Used Jamar well against Jolly and Flopsy Fraser. - Moved Bennell fwd when he was out of his depth up back. - Moved Green forward in the 2nd half. - Put the stoppers on Swan, Pendlebury and others. Nah, lets sack him and pay him out.
  19. This will be overlooked by many over the course of the season.
  20. Lack of fight... Get out of here. The article attempt to look at why beyong the shallow and naive "Miller the enforcer". I would have thought that there were some senior players you would have pointed out in selection. Swapping Bennell for Cheney really is neither here nor there. Whats up with the recruting?
  21. Sounds like a load of mindless bleating and whinging without any thoughtful recommendations.
  22. Geez its hard for the Hun when they dont have a coach coming out of contract or an article on the "Pies for the flag". Another article long on padding and speculation but without an iota of decent analysis.
  23. Where's the sarcasm font when its needed? I am not sure you have stuck your neck out at all. All you have said is the bleeding obvious. 12 months ago Scully was already the lynchpin of our midfield! Draft watchers that know had said Scully was AFL ready all last year. He's class and I'm glad we have him. And its not true about draft picks turning into champions. Do the reserch on the top 4 picks of the past 10 years. Some misses but alot of champion footballers. Barring injury, I can see no reason why Scully will not be a 10 year 200+ game star with NSM and flag honours all with the red and blue. The small excerpts of Scully and Trengove only higlight what a 3rd world midfield we have had for so long.
  24. Why not just toss coins an odd number of times and work it out from there? How do you know that Bailey has chosen anything? And that it is just the Coach styming performance?
  25. If Bailey is not secure then the Club has lied to members and supporters in their February press release. And Schwab, Connolly and the Board should be put on notice if that is the case (I dont know if or think it is the case). If the Board's strategy depends upon the next few weeks then they dont have a strategy and I am interested then in a rival ticket's strategy. I think the Club realises this is going to be a hard year. More so than many supporters. But if the performances dont improve then it will be a very bumpy ride for all stakeholders regardless of the situation with Bailey.
