Geez, good win for the Giants, the superstar Patton must've kicked a few?
-
This sucks. What a joke, now we've got nothing to whinge about!

Jordan Lewis is absolutely cooked, never pick him again
FireInTheBennelly replied to DeeSpencer's topic in Melbourne Demons
He seemed to lace out uncontested Hawks players more often than not today. It might almost be worth telling him to aim at opposition players and he might actually hit one of ours. -
Hawthorn are our [censored]
-
Hawks appear to be experts at the old 1 arm handball
-
Why are Hawthorn allowed to shepherd the man on the mark, but no other team is allowed?
-
Is that what happens when a forward leads at the ball carrier? Wow.
-
Old man forgot the new rule, perhaps he's forgotten which team he plays for as well.

Who would've thought, you don't improve footy skills in a [censored] swimming pool!!
-
They're expecting 35,000. What a [censored] up.

CASEY DEMONS V FOOTSCRAY VFL - Round 5
FireInTheBennelly replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
Has he nominated for a draft previously and therefore eligible for the mid year draft? Sounded like he had a great game last week so might get snapped up if he's in it. -
Righto, if it's wet, for the love of God, please kick the freakin thing off the deck!!!!!

You win

Being a lifelong asthmatic I can fully understand the idea behind it. Swimming was the only thing that developed my lung capacity to a point where I was able to ease off on medications. Having said that, surely there are other, safer, ways of doing it??? Also, if this was a preseason training drill, why are we still doing it? It's game time, let's get some skills training happening and retain fitness levels, rather than pushing to improve. No wonder players look tired on game day and can't dispose properly.

Agree with this. I figured they were going for a 'safety in numbers' approach. Whereby if we didn't take the mark, and couldn't crumb it, there'd be defensive pressure on hand immediately. Unfortunately it makes it harder to score at the same time through the congestion.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - DECLAN KEILTY
FireInTheBennelly replied to Steve13's topic in Melbourne Demons
Me too. Could we call them Mac and Deca? -
Congrats to yourself and Dec of course. I had a feeling something was up when you'd gone very quiet, and I saw a few others mention similar. I really feel like Dec is one of those few players that will improve at the highest level, so based on his already good form, if that happens he'll be there to stay and quickly become a fan favourite. Good luck to you both. Feel good story of the week.

Uninspiring

It's not a good sign when you're biting your fingers, just for the team list.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
FireInTheBennelly replied to Dee tention's topic in Melbourne Demons
Ben Brown would be useless with us because his number 1 avenue to goal is free kicks. We're not allowed to receive any inside f50, so he'd be lucky to get a kick. -
Good, he's just another accumulator.

The good old Golden Ticket is alive and well.

The 2019 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
FireInTheBennelly replied to Nascent's topic in Melbourne Demons
Any love for Ben Keays at the Lions? Drafted as a mid but hasn't put it together, but now racking up goals in the NEAFL after a shift up forward. Lays a tackle so the defensive pressure is there also. He is a local lad though so might be hard to convince a move is the go, although if he's not getting senior game time. Is he worth a look? -
If only he'd added 'but after an incredible collapse ended up all out for 365' it would've made sense.

Jordan Lewis is absolutely cooked, never pick him again
FireInTheBennelly replied to DeeSpencer's topic in Melbourne Demons
That really depends on other factors. If it were just Jordy then no, however if a Hawk or Tiger for example were to do the exact same thing, then I'm sure any rules would become flexible.
