WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
Ben Brown would be useless with us because his number 1 avenue to goal is free kicks. We're not allowed to receive any inside f50, so he'd be lucky to get a kick.

Josh Kelly
Good, he's just another accumulator.

The 2019 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
Any love for Ben Keays at the Lions? Drafted as a mid but hasn't put it together, but now racking up goals in the NEAFL after a shift up forward. Lays a tackle so the defensive pressure is there also. He is a local lad though so might be hard to convince a move is the go, although if he's not getting senior game time. Is he worth a look?

The 2019 Mid Season Draft
If only he'd added 'but after an incredible collapse ended up all out for 365' it would've made sense.

Jordan Lewis is absolutely cooked, never pick him again
That really depends on other factors. If it were just Jordy then no, however if a Hawk or Tiger for example were to do the exact same thing, then I'm sure any rules would become flexible.

Dusty Martin’s assault on Hibberd
Don't recall seeing it Joeboy, does anyone have footage/gif?

Our skills are the worst in the league Do we use footballs at training?

Good luck with that. Demons i50 are invisible for umpires, unless they infringe.

I think you're mostly right WB, but not sure about the dew making us fumble. I think we're good enough at that ourselves. No skills. Hore has shown he can almost break even against Riewoldt. Send TMac forward, we need a target.

We'll win this by 10 goals if they start paying the throws

ANB should've buried him then. If you want to stand on the line waiting for me to take you over, you're in trouble. Weak

Sounds good, looked good, but need to take the bloody mark!

I was thinking Lockhart goes back as the Jetta replacement. We'll know soon enough. I don't have much faith in us doing anything other than bomb it in at the moment.

So does that mean we're left with Weids and Bull up front? It won't matter how many i50s we have tonight in that case.

Does for me SWYL. If the Tigers smash us, I'm not sure there'll be enough alcohol on the planet.

PREGAME: Rd 06 vs Richmond
I know I'm in the minority here, but I don't think we're that far away. We're getting the ball into attack more than enough times to kick a winning score but for whatever reason the forwards haven't 'clicked' just yet. From this point I think we're trying to put the pressure on, but if you go back and look, every time we try to hunt the opposition we end up with 2 or even 3 players trying to shut down 1, leaving too many free options for them to get out. Almost every single time this happens the opposition has scored the Chinese checkers goals. If we can clean up the defensive pressure to stop them getting out the over the back goals will dry up. Turn those moments into turnovers and we're good. That's our backup route to goal, but obviously if the forwards start to get it together we should be winning more than we are now. Don't get me wrong, I'm no 'company boy', I'm as disappointed/[censored] off as the next man, I just don't think we're that far off. In regards to the Tigers game though, I can't see how we can clean up these things in 4 days. Stranger things have happened I guess.

Questions that need to be answered.
Exactly right, so the question to be asked here is: 'Why have we as a club been unable to develop any semblance of basic football skills over the last 15 years?' Unless the gameplan calls for handpassing to the teammate under the most pressure, preferably to his feet, OR kick it long to a contest with our smallest player, OR under no circumstances attempt to shepherd an opposition player, why can't we execute these things?

Jordan Lewis is absolutely cooked, never pick him again
Can we slap a moonboot on him and call it season ending? Give us another pick in the mid season draft. 2 picks then, grab the best potential wingmen possible and chuck em in. What could it hurt? I agree, he needs to sit in the coaches box, or even on the bench to get in the ears as players come off. Casey playing assistant coach next year, but he'll probably want to run back to the Hawks.

GAMEDAY: Rd 05 vs St Kilda
Why do we keep bombing it long to a contest for the shortest player on the team?
