This is where the AFL is going to find a problem.. Carlton are arguing "Why is this happening now when for five years you have let us get away with it"? You can see their point because they have been allowed to "get away with it" for this long and all of a sudden because of the Tippett dramas they are now saying we cant have these deals so sorry you have to count the money now.. Haha i say to all of them but I am not sure if there could be a challenge but all I say to Demetriou and his cronies " You reap what you sow"..

Hey Mae, You should come- have had a contact from the club and mid month they meet to finalise travel for the year. After that she will mail me re functions. I think they would prefer the Gabba one but we may have to figure a better one re Transport to Gabba. Bus too costly and we lost $$$ on it but problem is we Might lose people if we don't figure a way. That's why GC one is better as you can just walk across to the game from the venue. We could have the unofficial one at the pineapple and then walk down to the ground.

Yes I know this and I would have a function at both if I could but I dont think the club will do both.. we can still do one and i m sure we would get help but not sore we can rely on any club officials attending the "non offical" one..

Yes this is my preference as we have Gabba functions every year - time for the GC to get a go.. Might mean a few less come from further north but its only a further hour down the highway.. whats an hour eh? Tourist mecca.. heaps to do down here after the game for those staying...

The draw is out and it is discovered that we play Brissie at Gabba on April 28 which is a day game and then on August 10th we have Gold Coast at Metricon at night... Sat night I believe. I now have to start planning and woudl like some help.. If you were coming up, or if you are thinking of actually being up here for one or both games, which of the following would you prefer in way of a funcion with coaches etc..? Note: no longer do we have after match functions attended by players... this is the Neeld way and we have to suck it up unfortunately. Option 1 - Gabba Day Game (April Sunday 3.15 pm game )- Breakfast in city hotel and then transfer to the Gabba to watch the game - or the Pineapple for a pre-game drink .. Option 2 - Metricon Stadium, GC ( August 10th Sat night Game) - Early dinner function and then walk across to the ground for the game. For those that came to the function at the Gold Coast for NAB cup function last season, it was a great function and everyone enjoyed themselves. it was a good set up and the golf club treated us well. Plus no need for buses etc to transfer - simple walk across the road. So basically which one would you prefer if you were to come or hypothetically if you cant make it ... just so I can say tot he club we would like this as our official function... naturallly we want as many visitors as we can get.

Queensland Demons will be holding their annual Xmas Lunch on Sunday December 9th at Shearers Arms Hotel in Ormeau. Great day and plenty of laughs and chats all Demon orientated. Hope to see the regulars and some newbies come along. I will be sending out invites but if you are new or have not been before, please email me at qlddemons at iprimus dot com dot au. I will be doing the invite in the next few days and will send out to those on the mail list. Pub has great food and they give you lots of it and drinks at normal bar prices. Normally starts around 12 and finishes as the last person walks out the door.. stay as long as you want or just a quickie drink.. up to you . The drawing of the sponsorship "raffle" of the Chip Frawley guernsey for season 2012 will take place so for all sponsors you will go into the draw to take home his signed guernsey from the Hawthorn game this year. You dont have to be there to win it, but if you can thats great. Any interstaters who will be in Queensland then are also welcome to come along. Just email me as above or PM me here.

You are very welcome.. I told Cas to get me her email address and we can join her up with the Queensland Demons. We dont have a lot of social functions due to the people up here really just wanting to go the the games but we do have a great Xmas lunch which she can come along to. She was a top girl - very nice and glad we could help. Thats what the Queensland Demons was formed for- to bring supporters in our vast state together. Deb

ooh yes one too many dees but there can never be enough Dees really, can there? [email protected] is the correct email. Bus will travel between the hotel and the ground - you must request that in your booking so we know how full the bus will be and what size bus we need to book. Originally bus was to go from Gabba/Piineapple to the hotel and back but now it is envisaged it would be easier to do it in reverse and have people park in city ( on sunday at that time, we should have no difficulty) and I will get details from the club of the parking around the hotel and a guide to get there with those who wish to take this option . Bus will pick those up from the ground after the game and return to the city to your car. If you wish to go just one way, I will check on price for that.. price for bus both ways is $60. Price for brunch only is $50. Should be a fun morning and will get us all pumped for the game ahead. Bookings asap please.

Hey guys Queensland Members will have received their email from the club regarding our function prior to the game in 3 weeks. Bookings have been slow - where are you all? We will have some of our coaches, past players, raffles, auctions, and a lot of singing of the club song.. Mc'd by Chris Connolly and preceding a great game we will hopefully win over the Lions.. Bookings need to be in as soon as possible - please email me at [email protected]. Interstaters coming for the game are also most welcome and will not have received this mail. Held in Brisbane city hotel Sebel & Citigate on King George Square . For those wishing to park in the city a bus to the ground will be available and return from the ground after the game. II think he misses Beamer. They had such a great partnership and maybe he just can't whip up the same results without his #22 to get it out and kick it. If we had that working and with Clark in forward line we wouldn't be 0-3 now
