WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MITCH CLARK
Lil_red_fire_engine replied to waynewussell's topic in Melbourne Demons
From Mark Neeld on twitter " A big welcome to Mitch Clark, he is a great fit for the Demons - adds versatility and experience to the team" -
Am I the only one that sees that we may have too many half forwards? We will get killed on the turn over with that set up. I wonder what Petterds worth is?
-
The whole purpose on getting Clark is to have a permanent power forward. Trade Jamar and he will spend half his time in the ruck which is not the intention.

Addam Maric To North Melbourne
Lil_red_fire_engine replied to Bates Mate's topic in Melbourne Demons
Old I think your onto something. I expect we will just swap picks to improve out draft position. -
I dont but assuming that is where he wants to go if there is more than one club he could walk regardless. Unless one of those clubs is GWS, multiple clubs makes no difference.
-
I doubt we will get much for Matty if he is going to GC. He could walk and go to them in the pre-season so if this is where he is going then they should not need to offer much.
-
Thats a good deal if true. Would not be suprised to hear a swap of picks involved.
-
If Maric is going to North would entertain a straight swap for Campbell or Urquart. Will be interesting to see what the cost is for Lisle. is he out of contract?
-
Carlisle and Chaplain say hi.
-
Look forward to you providing an example of when this has happened.
-
A graders are rarely traded when they are in contract..
-
Beamer in the 50 is well deserved. Would be higher if he can put together some standout games against mature opposition. James Frawley should be in ahead of Bock and at least 5 others.
-
Dangerfield is under contract and due to this will not be going anywhere. Next year may be a different story. Tapscott just played his first season of senior football where he looked very capable playing a role that he had not played previously. How about maybe we give the kid some time before people decide what he is and how good he'll be.

Davey was a more valuable player in his formative years as a pressure forward than at any point afterwards including his B&F win. His performances last year were for me a constant reminder of the soft and selfish Melbourne culture that we are slowly ridding ourself of. As was raised many a time by Hannibal players like Davey rarely win you finals. I would not be concerned in the slightest if we traded him but doubt this would occur. I hope a new coach will bring out some of the initial selflessness and defensive game he once possessed.

Byrnes is a hack. Goldsack may be a good fit.

Another great appointment. I feel the tiding is turning.
-
Hale proved last year that playing limited games and wanting to leave does not mean you cannot get a high pick. As long as there are multiple clubs strongly interested in his services which I expect Hawthorn and Carlton both will be at least then we will obtain over his perceived value to our team.

I attended a Before the Bounce event that Royal spoke at and he left me nothing but unenthused. He stated that a key principle he had with our backs was to never leave them in a one on one contest, a player should always go and help out. That puzzled me considering I would back Frawley and Garland one out against most opponents. I then witnessed us give up 4 goals that day from having too many players up at the contest.
-
Correct. I think is what the purpose of the statement was.
-
Great work. However I am sure once Moloney wins a B & F next Friday and is captain next year he will be slotted in.
-
Thought he spoke well with a very direct no BS approach and a hint of arrogance. The key thing which has slipped through and I amazed the media did not ask more about was that we have assured he will be surrounded with a strong group of successful people. That to me means large changes in our assistances coaches and other areas. Would be great to see Buttifant follow him to Melbourne.
