Along the lines of the top 5 most hated clubs, Who are your top five most hated players (all teams)?

Mine reads as follows:

1. Dale Thomas - His arrogance gives me the s**ts

2. Chance Bateman - Can't explain this one, perhaps it is because he always plays well against

3. G-Train - That tackle of Carroll's in the 2006 Final is my favourite piece of footage

4. Barry Hall - Even when he has the advantage of umpiring he still has a whinge

5. Dale Thomas - Just because i hate him so much

Lets go:

1 Matthew Lloyd

2 Campbell Brown

3 Spider Everitt

4 Scott Lucas

5 Cam Mooney

Why is there so much hate in the world?

1. Des Hedland - CANNOT STAND his showboating after goals and such.

2. Jeff Farmer - See above.

3. Barry Hall - It's a shame more people can't tackle him. I hate the way he tries to palm off the entire opposition defence, gets caught, then moans about free kicks. [censored].

4. Aker. Talks WAY too much. What a sponge. He'd be towards the top of the AFL's stupidity list. So why then is he so outspoken? Know your limitations matey.

5. Brendan Fevola. Similar to Aker really. Fevola is a right gumby.

1. Des Headland - arrogant little [censored]

2. Stephen Milne - morally corrupt

3. Alan Didak - see Headland

4. Fraser Gehrig - a genuine tool

5. Brad Johnson - the smiling assassin?? more like the smiling [censored]

As a side note, I don't necessarily hate these players - they just give me the red hot squirts.

How can ya hate Scotty Lucas? Unless he's playing us that is... He's great to watch, underrated, not a [censored], and he plays for Essendon, rare attributes coming from that club...

Alan Didak

Dale Thomas

Josh Carr

Q Lynch

Daniel Ward

1. Steve Johnson - very good player, but vastly overrated. Didnt deserve to be All-Australian or Norm Smith Medallist last year. A lot of cats fans i know agree.

2. Des Headland - front-running showboater.

3. Alan Didak - arrogant little [censored] with a face you just want to punch.

4. Ricky Dyson - the softest, most overrated player on the Dons list. Essendon fans LOVE him and think he's gonna be an absolute superstar, but i just dont see it. He's just SOOOO soft.

5. Mark Jamar - doughnuts.

Brett Burton real lucky to miss out on that list

Too hard to put them in order, but here are the true wankers/tossers/sooks/cheats of the AFL

Alan Didak

Stephen Milne

Brendan Fevola

Josh Carr

Des Headland

Chris Tarrant

Matthew Lloyd

Dale Thomas

Cameron Mooney

Josh Hunt

Brent Harvey

Chad Cornes

Warren Tredrea

Peter Everitt

Brodie Holland

Anthony Rocca

Dean Brogan

Nathan Carroll

Mark McVeigh

Paul Chapman

Campbell Brown

Im sure I missed some, but that will do for now

1. Matthew Lloyd (If he kicks another goal against us for a free kick for diving, I'll Spew)

2. Josh Carr

3. Brendan Favola

4. Chris Tarrant

5. Des Headland

1. Lloyd (As mentioned above - Cant stand his diving)

2. Didak (So Collingwood)

3. Rocca (Nothing worse than hearing Collingwood supporters referring to him as Rocky...)

4. Tarrant (Had the displeasure of being stuck on a plane with Collingwood to Adelaide - Tarrant was the stand out [censored])

5. Fevola (Like watching him play, just cant stand him on the Footy Show; One of several reasons why I stopped watching it).

Interesting that all 5 are forwards and (originally) from Victorian Teams

I also suspect that people I know who support Collingwood and Essendon probably have tainted my inclusions....

Lloyd

Didak

Josh Carr

Headland

Buddy

Des Headland - an excellent front runner.. his celebrations of kicking goals reek of self congratulating and may be very familiar with himself

Matthew Lloyd - Greg Louganis/ Velvet Sledgehammer is one of those players that you cannot help but dislike.. his shorts up around his bonce, his continuous diving at the slightest touch and the number of goals he snags from handballs in the goalsqaure

Stephen Milne - my hatred of this cat started when he played as a bomber against the demons at punt road.. he was a little sniper back then and not much has changed...

The Carr brothers - massive opinions of themselves and will get their just desserts one day... waiting to see it!!

Brett Burton - tool of the highest order!! The Birdman II, original was Brett Evans, seems to do his best work on flat tracks and smaller opponents!!

5 most loathed players and given that its Oscars night - their most appropriate movie roles...

Matthew Lloyd, a.k.a. "the Guppy"...slawjawed moron...suggested movie role: dead heat between a role in "Deliverance, or just as a Stuka Pilot in "Battle of Britain"

Alan Didak...sheer flith....should be a movie actress, suggested movie role "Riding in Cars With Boys"

Buddy Franklin...the Ben Cousins of the Eastern seaboard...FIGJAM...suggested movie role "Blow"

Stephen Mile...quintessential little [censored]...suggested movie role...any sick violent Japansese adult movie

Rocca...a.k.a Rock Ape....suggested movie role: "Return to the Planet of the Apes"

On a more positive note, 5 most admired players from other clubs [in no particular order]:

1. Marty Clarke...its not his fault he went to Collingwood, being Irish how was he supposed to know?

2. Scott Lucas...I know a lot of you would hate him because he's a bomber, but how many players out there can play CHF & CHB and turn a game like he can?

3. Scott Thompson...great midfielder and sad when he left us, still we should have known he would have got homesick for that traffic light in Adelaide

4. Adam Goodes...class, work ethic, think he;s a gem

5. Jimmy Bartel...great combination of work ethic, class and humility

Knobs:

Adam Hunter - Perth bogan

Hedland - it's all been said already

Lloyd - once again it's all been said - remember that 'double goal' against us

Tredrea - that bow in the prelim...

Williams (Hawthorn) - deliberately falls over in front of defenders so they give away the free, dumb celebrations after goal

Cooney - soft frontrunner

Aker - first class [censored], thank god we didn't get him, he's shot

Good blokes:

Buckley - genuine good guy, modest, like his style on 3AW

Riewolt - gets targeted every week and really tough, modest

Richo - the most human footballer out there, gives his all

Robert Murphy - classy and has half a brain (a rare commodity in the AFL)

Jonathan Brown - coloussus, straight shooter, seems like a good bloke (you wouldn't want to be on his bad side)

Over-riding factor for me is modesty vs ego-maniacs

If we're doing good blokes then:

1. Brett Kirk - committed, courageous, humble

2, Robert Murphy - son of a preacher man!

3. David Wirrpanda - won awards for helping indigenous community

4. James Bartel - made a good impression Brownlow night

5. James Mc Donald - determined, disciplined, hard working, modest.

most hates

1 - Dale Thomas - live like a 5 time premiership player - who to date still has achieved nothing.

2 - Steven Baker - not sure if anyone has mentioned him but shame on you if you havent.

3 - Brendan Fevola - thinks he is above everyone including his team mates, his talent aside if he had a brain and could keep his mouth shut he would be one of the best... what a waste.

4 - Rhyce Shaw - not sure why just cant stand him

5 - Any cloke playing the game - they can thank their daddy for that one...

Most admired blokes

1 - John Brown - Freak

2 - Adam Goodes - versatility

3 - Robert Harvey - look at his record

4 - Chris Judd - break ability

5 - Barry Hall - how can you not like him, one of the hardest working blokes going around

Come on... U have to put in the collywobble Ben Johnson for that attempted murder on Daniel bell last year.. THEN he started to cry about it...

and... any richmond player on their list

Heres mine:

1. Ben Johnson - obvious reasons

2. Brad Johnson - just a [censored]

3. Little Milne - litte smartass/potential rapist?/general [censored]

4. Kane [censored] Pettifer - Being himself is enough

5. Matthew Richardson - Abuses his own team mates too much

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

A few years ago, the Melbourne Football Club produced a documentary about the decade in which it rose from its dystopic purgatory of regular thrashings to the euphoria of a premiership victory. That entire period could have been compressed in a fast motion version of the 2025 season to date as the Demons went from embarrassing basket case to glorious winner in an unexpected victory over the Dockers last Saturday. They transformed in a single week from a team that put in a pedestrian effort of predictably kicking the ball long down the line into attack that made a very ordinary Bombers outfit look like worldbeaters into a slick, fast moving side with urgency and a willingness to handball and create play with shorter kicks and by changing angles to generate an element of chaos that yielded six goals in each of the opening quarters against Freo.
