Rumour going down

With the Judd negotiations taking place the other 14 clubs have been using this time to also begin trade talks and i have heard from a source(who could well be legit) that a massive trade amongst many trades is on the cards.

Like has been said Travis Johnstone and Brad miller as well as our pick 36 are to be carted off to Sydney in return for their pick 11 and pick 43. This pick 11 will then be offered to Fremantle for Ryan Murphy.

Fremantle will then on-trade this pick 11, as well as their own pick 7 to lure jed adcock to the dockers who they are very keen on. The lions are also believed to be offerring their 2nd round pick number 24 to get the deal across the line.

The lions are believed to be after some more pace through the midfield, and as a result are willing to offer Cameron Wood(who is offically leaving the club) to the Blues who are in desperate need of a ruckman (besides the likeliness of snaring Kruezer). Marc Murphy is who they are after, and the Lions will grab him, after offering Cameron Wood, Sherman and pick 11 to the blues.

With the blues losing Murphy, they will be eager to get the Judd deal across the line and being in box position to secure the deal they will be offering their draft pick 3 as well as number 11 (which they acquired from the Lions). Damon White (who they got from Port Adelaide with their pick 35) will also be offered by the blues to the Eagles.

Brad Symes has also apparently expressed discontent after being given few opportunties to shine in 2007. In, what I believe to be a bit of a nothing trade. Symes has packed his bags and is heading out to Geelong in what is a rare direct trade with Geelong for Brent prismall.

Adelaide has also officially agreed to let Meesen go for our pick 43(as we exchanged our pick 36 with Sydney).

The Bulldogs are also believed to be keen on Kane Tenace who they believe will compliment their sizzling speed that they already have going. Pick 37 has been offered for Kane Tenace and the cats seem content with this as Tenace will most likely fail to get much opportunities in 2008 with the cats flag favourites.

In the meantime, the bulldogs are playing hard ball with Adelaide(as are Melbourne with Meesen) and are offering their pick 53 alone knowing that the draft pool is a weak one and that they can pick Hudson up in the Pre-Season draft as the other clubs have stated that they are not interested.

Jolly will surprisingly remain with Sydney

In other news Kepler Bradley will be a kangaroo next year, as they are seeking to build up young key position posts with Lachlan Hansen already there. Petrie will be a bomber with Knights as a new coach apart of the deal that will see the bombers giving up their pick 22 and Kepler Bradley for Petrie. The Kangaroos are after a sweetener for the deal and will be offered pick 34 which was acquired by the bombers are releasing him to the tigers.

Murphy isn't worth pick 11...

I like Murphy, but can't we just keep the pick 11 :P

took a lil while to get my head around all that.. ( it will stop spinnig anytime soon!! ) Quite fascinating all that :)

Should that come off it will certainly go to reshaping the Red and Blue.. makes sense ona number of fronts, esp to me freeing up a wing. Well lets ee what else happens. Its definitely not going to be dull is it lol :)

I still reckon we need beefing up in the backline.. maybe just me.

I still reckon we need beefing up in the backline.. maybe just me.

And me !

I wouldn't have thought Marc Murphy would be party to that. He snubbed Brisbane under the father-son rule a couple of years ago, why would he want to now. I hate to say it Freak, but that looks like something the [censored]-takers on bigfooty cook up. Sorry mate, didn't mean to shoot the messenger.

Again, I'd rather have pick 11 than Murphy.

And, oh dear, I just noticed what the Bombers get... don't think they'd appreciate that.

Gain: Ryan Murphy, Meesen

Doubt whether CAC1963 would allow the club to get screwed over like that.

i cant really see the Bummers giving up Bradley actually

effectively you need to equate Murphy = Trapper + Frosty ????

entertaining read

well im just relaying the message. but miller is nothing(lets be honest)..so murphy for trapper. I guess that seems right.

well...I wasnt really sure whehter to put a + or a - !! lol

Fantastic stuff.

Whether it's true or not...

Ryan Murphy for TJ and Miller.

Not jumping for joy with TJ leaving but Ryan Murphy is a footy player, can take a mark. Good prospect for any one of our spine problems.

Seriously, we need a chiropractor because FB - Carroll (Yeesh!) , CHB - Rivers (V.Good, but more effective in an Archer like floating role), CHF - Newton(Calm down, his first year was good - here's hoping), FF - Neitz (only 1 or 2 years left).

Wow.

I'd take that deal for us.

Murphy is improving while TJ is past it. Would prefer to keep no.11 though. Miller is shithouse.

All speculation though ain't it?

Cheers for posting.

we'll wait and see i guess. we wouldn't have got the pick 11 unless there was an agreement that we would on-trade it..so it was never our pick 11.

u should stop running through meadows at night and sniffing all those daisies !!

miller will be staying as he has been quoted as looking foward to what DB. HAS IN STORE FOR HIM..

& ryan who ????? then we get pick 11 to only give it away ???

you got too much time on your hands !!!

Sounds like Chiliboys back!

Carlton have already said Murphy, Gibbs and Fev are untouchable.

Prismall is also not going to be traded. I know his family and he has been told he is a required player and they will not trade him.

will CAC1963 log on next week during trade week??

Meesen and Murphy would be great inclusions...but perhaps only for trav and miller..i wouldnt trade pick 11...i guess we still have ourpick 4 and 21

Like the idea of Meeson and Murphy.

However, Pick 11 is a bit rich for murphy.

My Idea would be miller, trapper and pick 21 and 37 out.

And in return Murphy, Meeson and pick 11.

I think you've all missed the point with regards to pick 11. The pick 11 is all an agreement between 4 clubs. it would be offered to melbourne PROVIDED it was on-traded to fremantle PROVIDED it was on-traded to brisbane for jed adcock.

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.

Salem proved to be a valuable contributor as a reliable and solid one-on-one medium-sized defender in what was undoubtedly his most impressive season since the premiership year. He remains a highly capable rebounding option for the Demons as he approaches his 200th game at the club.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

Following an injury-interrupted start to the season, McVee struggled to maintain the standard he established in 2025 as he pursued an expanded role within the team structure. He remained a firm fan favourite and the club had hoped to negotiate a new contract with the former rookie selection from Western Australia, whose partner, Lily Johnson, plays for Melbourne's AFLW side. Those hopes were dashed when he expressed his desire to return to his home state and play for Fremantle. Like all players who have worn the red and blue and are leaving this year, we wish him well in the future.
