Spurs. Unreal.

Pretty much every European game we play is completely whack.

13 minutes in against Inter: 3-0 down with our keeper sent off. 35 minutes in: 4-0 down.

Bale scores a second half hat-trick (including one of the best of the season) and we finish 4-3 losers having played over 80 minutes with 10 men.

So where does everyone think Rooney will go , its seems Sir Alex has had enough of him and he has been in patchy form since the World Cup

That's unbelievable !

What is happening to Chelsea? At least Man U won 26 on the trot and could take top spot in a few weeks

i don't want the world cup to be in australia. it will be a security nightmare, cities locked down for 5-6 weeks.

happy to watch it on tv at the pub from some other country.

i agree totally with your summation of elle and joolia. very embarrassing to listen to i thought

I agree , WYL, I don't want it,either.

But the reason I'm opposed is because I see Soccer as a threat to our home-grown, superior game, Australian Football

Having the World Cup here will not only badly disrupt the season of the Footy I'm interested in, but it will concentrate attention on the inferior sport.

Many young kids will follow soccer instead of Australian football. Especially the kids of recently arrived Australians. I love the idea of migrants embracing the Australian way of life, and in my opinion, that includes Aust. Football, not European football, or "mobile wrestling"(rugby...also not native Australian).

I like the idea of us Australians distinguishing ourselves sportwise by having a very strong League of our very different game.

I see the World Cup in Australia(Sydney), as a threat to that.

Well done Hammers....4 nil v. Manchester U. in he Carling Cup!!!

The EPL Football i do really like, attacking. But the European Brand of Soccer is just dull most of the time as it all hinges on defence.

I do enjoy the WC for that one month, but i do not want it in my backyard-i see no gain & nobody will be able to hail a cab for weeks. Stuff that!!

The above link lists the 23 players nominated for Ballon d'Or European footballer of the year .

Barcelona have 8 of their players put forward ! Including Messi of course .

Interestingly La Liga has 13 players nominated , the EPL has 4 , Serie A and the Bundesliga have 2 each .

Oh and btw if you want to watch the greatest team in the world strut their stuff , the mighty Barcelona are away to Athletic Bilboa 5.55am this Monday on ESPN (Red and Blue colours of course ) ( Ok , a splash of yellow as well ) Barcelona's games are shown live every week on ESPN - Get on board !

Cheers , Nuggets

"el clasico" on at 7.55am tomorrow morning .

Real Madrid vs Barcelona . Arguably the 2 best soccer teams in the world and interestingly , both teams are owned by their fans .

Man U out of champions league. Focus will be on the title now.

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

Who would have imagined, when the season kicked off early last month, that Melbourne would emerge from the opening six weeks with wins over both Queensland powerhouses? At the time, Gold Coast and Brisbane were the competition’s early pace-setters, the flavours of the month, and the prospect of the Demons toppling both within the course of a fortnight seemed remote. Yet here they are, banking those scalps alongside home victories over two traditional Victorian rivals and building a quietly impressive resume.
