Well that ended quickly

Man City win the title after the Gunners run out of steam at the pointy end of the season

So can City win the treble? ... The Title, FA Cup & Champions League?

We'll soon find out as the FA Cup Final is on next weekend and the CL final is on the weekend after

CL places for next season seem to be finalised (Liverpool will need a number of things to happen to gain a spot) so the real interest is which 2 teams out of Everton, Leeds or Leicester will be relegated

I'm a week ahead!

Last weekend of EPL games next weekend the FA Cup 4th June & CL Final 11th June

In some annoying News, BeIN Sport coming off Foxtel/Kayo. Need to get direct BeIN Sport Streaming service now it seems?

Foxtel/Kayo now lost - Ligue 1, Bundesliga, Championship, League 1, League 2, SPL, Caraboa Cup, Serie A, Copa Sudamerica, Copa Libertadores.

That's on top of losing Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, La Liga, A-League, Champions League, Europa League, MLS in recent years too

Well done, Hammers!

Staying up!!!

It seems we've left our best to last ... watched our game against Leeds and we looked mighty dangerous on the counter attack

Up against Fiorentina in the Conference league final so a chance for some silverware at long last.  Won't be easy

You are kidding me! Just getting harder and harder to watch the World game now isn't it!

This Hammers and Foxes game is intriguing, will the Hammers rest a few guys for the Viola? Leicester flat out need to win.

Everton and Bournemouth at Goodison at the same time. Everton, the masters of the great escape, can they get a win to stay up? A draw and a Leicester win probably won't be enough. Leeds also in the frame but would have to beat Spurs and hope for an Everton loss due to poor goal difference.

There's a bit of a tradition of clubs holding to integrity in the last few games

I've even heard Jose talk about playing out the year in a proper manner

But with a big final coming up we might still rest a few

Foxtel/Kayo deal with BeIN ending 30 June 2023.

BeIN direct is $179 or so for the year but you can only have one stream at a time, so can't even split with a mate.

So more importantly, what soccer will Foxtel & Kayo cover looking ahead?

I don't have either but do have Optus Sports

Last few years Foxtel only had soccer through its affiliates ESPN (MLS) and BeIN Sport.

MLS now on Apple TV and with BeIn out of the door i'm not sure Foxtel have any soccer (at this stage).

They are going to lose a number of subscribers

Footy & League are their strongholds though so they may not be too concerned

Lol - just got an email from Foxtel telling me the cost of my subscription is going up.

Impeccable timing!

Edit: And now a second email from Telstra that phone / net services are going up too. Happy days.

The issue was always going to be that all the different sporting comps would be broken up between any number of different streaming or cable services

And now that scenario has been ramped up especially if one is a soccer fan

In the UK, only 200 of the 380 Premier League games are shown live, and none of them are on free-to-air (the BBC has a highlights show).

To watch those 200 games, you need to subscribe to 3 different services - Sky Sport, BT Sport and Amazon.

That’ll set you back £68 per month / £815 per year, which is about $1400 in our money, for a little over half the season.

And obviously that doesn't take into account any of the other cups and comps.

It's little wonder that illegal streams proliferate.

Let's hope our own game doesn't follow the same path, but there's been enough noise made during previous broadcast rights negotiations to suggest that's exactly where we are heading (having to buy from multiple services to get all the games).

This is exactly it.

It's been a while since I was over there but they used to have some kind of affordable BBC cable service which had most games and then everything exploded to other services when all games became televised I think.

It's madness to think you either need a season ticket to go each week or find some other way to watch.

Leeds supporter looking for a miracle this weekend. Need three upset results to stay up and just can not see it happening. And if they do somehow stay up it's only going be a repeat next season.

Yeah going to be tough ... of the 3 possible upsets, I can see Leeds winning as Tottenham are not in good form (also, avoiding the conference league qualifying might appeal for a bigger club like the Spurs)

My Hammers are playing well but Leicester at home will be desperate to win.  Same for Everton vs Bournemouth

But you never know

Their best chance is to win 3-0 and hope the other two games are draws. They got out of it in the last game last season can not see them escaping again.

Ok so that's feasible as 2 draws is on the cards for the Everton & Leicester games

Big Sam has done a few Mr Fixit's over time but as you said earlier, a lot has to happen for Leeds to stay up

I'm old enough to remember when Leeds were a powerhouse under Don Revie.  Billy Bremner, Peter Lorimer & Gordon McQueen were 3 of the stars back then but you had a lot of good players

9GemHD are showing the Europa League Final tomorrow morning from 4.30am (Sevilla/Roma)

Jose Mourinho aiming for his 27th trophy!

The FA Cup between United & City is being broadcast on SEN Radio from midnight tonight

Not on free-to-air TV which is a real shame

The Champions League Final will be broadcast live on 9Gem (Next Sunday morning (11th June) from 4.30am ... Man City vs Inter Milan

Man City score first - after 13 seconds!!

Fastest ever I'm Cup history (apparently)

Yes!  Looks a goer!

But can he deal with Daniel Levy?

Couldn't be happier for Ange, his career arc has been something truly impressive and he's got a unique football philosophy that is now catching eyes. It's not a style that can be adapted to instantly but after a half a season it will be fully dialed in and you'll see the fruits.

I'm not sure how far they are into their search for a sporting director but if they can make the right appointment here and bring in the right signings for Ange's system then we could really see some magic.

Well done Ange!

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
