The Panglossian’s Puzzle for Pedants

Featured Replies

I’ve had very little satisfaction in trying to solve Demonstone’s and Timothy R’s footy team quizzes, so I’ve tried to devise one that will baffle them.

I’ll be disappointed if (a) someone gets it straightaway , or (b)people say it was too obscure when I finally divulge the solution.

The players all have something in common, but it’s not footy related.

Backs. Andy Moniz- Wakefield, Chris Langford, Brenton Sanderson

Half Backs.Jack Sinclair, Kenny Hunter,Xavier Tanner

C. Ed Langdon,Scott Pendlebury,Jack Henderson

Half Forwards. Geoff Tunbridge,Jacob Van Rooyen,, Caleb Windsor

F.Jack Gunston,Jason Dunstall,Jack Ginnivan

Rucks Damian Monkhorst, Scott Wynd

Rover Jack Viney

Coach Ken Hinkley

Interchange,Nas Wanganeen Milleara,Josh Jenkins,John Ronaldson,Peter Sinclair,Austin Wonaeamirri,.

PM ‘s please , if you want to have a go.

ps…..they’re not all little known banjo players for obscure blue-grass bands…or anything like it!

Bump to stop this teaser from falling off the front page. (And no, I haven't been able to solve it. Is a clue forthcoming?)

Yep, I'm going to need a clue on this one, I'm going into numerology territory and that is never good.

I've figured out the forward line. If you take the inititals of the three players you get the sound my son makes when he sees a pigeon. "Jgjdjg".

Just joined, @The Panglossian! Don't give it away just yet, then!

Meanwhile, congrats and thanks for entering the puzzler fray!

Ding dang it. I'm one of those, and was hoping there were more of us than the world seems to think...

They all have n in their names.

Hint….you could make the team, Mande, if you,d played AFL/ VFL.

Man Dee is on the right track!

Didn't you see my PM????

PMs plural!!

Well done, Timothy!

He realised that all the players have an “n” as the third letter of their surname.

Too obscure?

He deduced it with a couple of vague clues.

Sorry I missed your PM’s Timothy….I’m not very familiar with the PM link.

The tragedy, and impracticability, of the closet banjo player.

Stumped

Stunped would almost make the team.
