PRESEASON TRAINING: Monday 1st December 2025

I'm impressed with the drill kingy is running at Southern end. Contestwd ball to someone outside then from 50 hitting a short pass to a forward. Last year it would have been a shot from 50. Mellky and koz still going long. Quite a few struggling with hard low accuracy.

Split into 4 groups for another 4 small drills.

  1. 3 vs 3 have to run to start I. The middle of two poles in the ground and have to run towards and then around their pole and back to the middle to collect the ground ball before the other team.

  2. 1 vs 1 ground ball get. Player that doesn’t get the ball has to tackle the other one.

  3. 1 v 1 high ball marking contest.

  4. 1 vs 1 ground ball rolled in front of one player who collects it while the other guy tries to tackle and the guy with the ball has to break the tackle by karate chopping the arm of the tackler.

Heath is very strong in body on body marking contest and can take a grab.

He'll surprise many on here playing a few games with the new ruck rule next year

Could easily be our Hayden McLean type player.

So I showed it to him. He loves it and asked where he could find it. I said idk but I saw it on Demonland. He said, “Oh if it’s on Demonland I’ll see it anyway.” 😳

Mihocek is playing forward in the match SIM

I would be shocked if he was playing somewhere else.

Both AMW and Melky had some white cream massaged into their kneecaps by Pete the physio.

I hope it’s not the defective sunscreen

Onley is a big boy. As tall as Lever and built much bigger.

Does that make him Wrench?

I bet he drops by anytime he wants to be reminded he's a legend. Couple of people who cracked the sulks on here about drafting Latrelle had better wear shoulder pads when they visit training.

JVR off to the rooms to get what looks like his bottom lip stitched up.

Geez, people are going to learn quickly not to talk back to this new coach.

Heath playing forward on TMac

I like this. Feels like Heath being challenged by a smart and dogged veteran with experience as both forward and defender and who even understands ruck duties. TMac given the classic defender's challenge to outpoint an opponent a little bit taller and faster than himself.

New drill. End to end. 10 vs 5 up the middle of the ground.

This drill involves moving the ball quickly by hand and foot up the ground. When the ball goes deep into the forward line the assistant kick the ball to themselves up the field to the back line and all the 15 players on the field have to gut run from the forward line to back line to do it again and then they switch out with another 15 players.
