It’s 8:33am and they’re already out there!

Ima hafta have a quiet but stern word to the new Pres. or Paul, or Richo or whomever sends them out early.

All good, I got to the tent and got some hugs in. Not least of all… KOZZIE!

Thanks I can start breathing again ! Baited breath for the last 15 minutes,

PLAYERS PRESENT:

Salem, Kozzy, Lindsay (No #5 today), Chandler, Fritsch, Bowey, Howes, Johnson, TMac, Adams, Kentfield, JVR, Windsor, Langford (#4), AMW, Heath, Sparrow, Berry, Jefferson, Culley (No #13 today), Henderson

My remote drone informs me that Tholstrup and Mentha are also there Andy...

At training this morning, and just getting a really good vibe about Culley.. he looks great and has an undeniable air of meaning business about him

How's Kosi? Did he have a good break? Is he raring to go for preseason?

I have high hopes for Culley this season. Doubt the club would be assigning the guernsey of a club legend to just anybody.

Kozzy ELECTRIC wearing the pink vest as the wingman playing for both teams in the middle.

Skills sublime.

At the same time?

More seriously, was it clear to the players which side he was on or was it some sort of surprise and the players had to work it out from the way he moved?

Split into 3 different groups for drills and rotating the groups through each one

  1. Jared Rivers kicking the ball high up to a one on one contest. Some good matchups. TMAC/JVR, TMac/Heath, Lindsay/Langford.

  2. Keepings off handball drill with 5 on 2.

  3. One on one tackling drill.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
