AFLW TRAINING: Monday 10th November 2025

Featured Replies

A handful of AFLW have arrived after the men.

Beasley, Dethridge, Johnson, Hose, Goldrick, Pisano, Ebert, all doing a main session.

Goldrick and Beasley most likely. They dominated the sims, with precision, and were constantly in the contests and handling of the ball.

Pisano stepped away from sims and was working on her goalkicking.

Chaplin (in rehab and in boots), jogged some laps, then started sprints at 75% effort, and then some change of direction drills. Did some handling of the ball. She is giving herself a chance to be ready, and recover from the hamstring problem. I didn't see any strapping, discomfort or restriction in movement.

Purcell (footy boots) and working with some intensity, in rehab.

Rigoni, McNamara, Pearce, Paxy, Hanks, Hore and Gall looked on, though returned to the sheds after about 40 minutes. Zanker dropped in late for a look on, from the sideline.

A good session, lots of involvement and high standards by those on the periphery of selection.

We'd have to be seriously considering Beasley, particularly if one or both of Goldrick and Chaplin don't get up in time (though sounds promising).

Goldrick looked good, most probable.

Beasley only question would be that she is not match fit. Showing good skills.

Chaplin has to tick the boxes, I believe she is possible. Hopefully she joins the main group by Friday, but I wouldn't be holding the breath. She would be a risk of re-injuring the hammy during the game.

So zanks cleared the concussion test, I get the club wanted to do the right thing, but now she'll miss this week because the club said she's out with concussion.

I just feel like it's kind of backfired with us losing. I wonder how she was yesterday, if she had symptoms

If she passed the test, why would she have to miss this week? I thought we took an overly cautious approach but there was no concussion?

The club needs to come out and clarify the Zanker situation for the members, because something doesn't add up at present.

I reckon we should play Beasley this week, even if she can only get through half a game. That's still going to be a much better contribution than we got from half a dozen players on Sunday.

She might make it back for the prelim, not this week.

Pretty clear...

Post-match, however, head coach Mick Stinear confirmed she was in concussion protocols, ruling her out for at least 12 days.

"(Eden) is in concussion protocols, was ruled out of the game, so yeah, she'll enter that protocol now. Seems to be doing OK, which is the No.1 thing, but yeah, disappointing to lose a key member for the team for a large part of the game. But the aim will be to get to work as a team, and hopefully give her an opportunity to play again this season," Stinear said.

Edo turns 26 today 🥳

And I have it on very good authority she will be re-signing with us.

Here’s why: the reason for the delay is because her partner Nikita didn’t think she’d get a contract extension with her club - the MCC FC in the VAFA - and was thinking of going back to WA. Nikita has been given a contract therefore is staying put in Victoria.

I’m still smarting from JuddGate so was loath to post this but as I said, my source is reliable.

Yep, that was I thought.

I figured it must have been something like this because Edo seems to love being at the Demons and you'd think would be well positioned in terms of progressing up the team's pay hierarchy, plus she's firing on-field and such a key player now.

Hopefully she's having a quiet day and feeling better!
