AFLW VOTES: Rd 08 vs Essendon

Featured Replies

Just mentioned on the other AFLW thread I reckon I missed a fair bit watching the game basically at ground level, so apologies for what may be some inaccurate assessments:

Chaplin
Fitzsimon
McNamara
Harris
Paxman
Ebert

6 Chaplin

5 Fitzsimon

4 Hanks

3 Harris

2 McNamara

1 Heath

Progressive voting to end of AFLW RD 8

106. Tyla Hanks

85. Kate Hore

69. Maeve Chaplin

51. Tayla Harris

49. Elizabeth McNamara

47. Megan Fitzsimon

24. Eden Zanker

16. Shelley Heath

15. Olivia Purcell

14. Paxy Paxman

12. Ryleigh Wotherspoon

4. Lauren Pearce Saraid Taylor

2. Maggie Mahony

1. Alyssa Bannan Gabrielle Colvin Laela Ebert Molly O’Hehir

Shelley Heath has had an excellent year to only have 16 votes. Not saying it's wrong, just noting she has been super consistent without being in BOG contention.

A real purple patch for Fitzy and a bit of a breakout season for her. She's been a great consistent team player but really come by into her own now as well!

Coaches' votes:

Melbourne v Essendon

10 Maeve Chaplin MELB
7 Tayla Harris MELB
4 Eliza McNamara MELB
3 Georgia Nanscawen ESS
2 Megan Fitzsimon MELB
2 Kate Hore MELB
2 Madison Prespakis ESS

Well deserved 10 for Chaplin!

  • REPORT: Carlton

The text messages started flooding in shortly after quarter time. One read: “Is Melbourne even at the ground?” Moments later, as Carlton’s Elijah Hollands kicked the first goal of the second term, the Blues held a commanding 43-point lead. By then, the Demons’ only score was a behind kicked by Brody Mihocek nearly five minutes into the game. Ironically, Mihocek would also register the last minor score of the day after the game took a dramatic turnaround.
