Jake Rogers could be another one worth asking the Suns about, Weโ€™re desperate for another quality small forward with speed and looks like heโ€™s going to get pushed down the pecking order further considering Leo Lombard barely play this season and Trac is likely to chew up some minutes as the Dusty hybrid mid/fwd role

There was a rumour Port were targeting him

On Fox's sporting section they stated we will get SUNS pick 7 and 17 , Suns get Petracca and our pick 26. This a [censored] deal , bare minimum ( insane ) they should get our 5Th round pick.

Humphries probably a better option.

So pick 7 and a slide up of a few draft spots for Petracca!!!

Yet for Merrett they think:

-Essendon receives Henry Hustwaite, Pick 8, Pick 29, 2026 first-round pick

-Hawthorn receives Zach Merrett, 2026 second-round pick

Setting aside the pick swaps they reckon Merrett is worth a top 10 pick plus another first round pick plus a player. Yet Merrett is the same age and other than being captain of a craap team and 6 BnF because the team is craap there is no way the two trade scenarios make sense. He has also gone scorched earth on his club.

I have no idea what those guys are on!

Also worth noting pick 7 and 17 will actually end up something like pick 11 and pick 22

Word was that Petracca wanted more year/s and extra $s from crows.

Same for Suns?

The same goes for the suggested Merrett picks.

My astonishment is they think Merrett is worth a player and another first round pick more than Petracca.

Wow what a head turner!!!!!

Couldnโ€™t possibly be correct.

Where would that leave Lambs credibility?

I think it's fair to say that Lamb job is on the line. Everyone will want him out if he stuffs this one up. He has poor form too with giving away 2nd rounders for Frost and McAdam. Don't stuff this one up Lamby!

Crows bowed out of the Petracca race as they didn't have anything to offer besides mid-late ranged first round picks.

I'm cautiously optimistic we'll do better than Gold Coasts slightly better mid-late first round draft picks.

Either Humphrey or Walter or no deal.

It's Humphrey for Petracca or we keep Petracca. He's a sooky prima-donna but he's a pro. No doubt he'll be back for the RedBull camp in Europe in ripping shape for the pre-season.

I wouldn't take 6 + 7 + Ainsworth in a deal unless our ambition is to end up 17th next year and enjoy pick 2 in next year's draft.

Go full @WERRIDEE and select a starting, bench and depth midfield for 2026 without Petracca, Oliver and without a proper replacement. It's fugly!

I'd go further. if Humphrey wants to come with us, i'm asking for him plus pick 6.

Trac is an established pro, BH is a talented young player who hopes to develop into a Trac level player.

We are right down the bottom of the list of clubs Fox like. No surprises they want us to get SFA for Trac.

Good news for you. It's in the list manager thread. We don't need Oliver he's a culture killer. I know I've degraded the draft but I would take pick 7 it will be an ok player but not a replacement for Trac. I'd take Ainsworth too. They won't give us 6 and 7 they need at least one of those picks for Uwland and Patterson

If we get Humphrey for Petracca we need to sign and run. It's a great deal for both clubs. We're not getting a Humphrey any other way and GC aren't getting a Petracca for him when he inevitably leaves at the end of his contract. We just need to sell it to Humphrey and "it's gonna take money, a whole lot of spending money"

Totally. just sign it before they realise.

Nah you're too soft Humphrey has done nothing yet we need more. Pick 7 and throw in Ainsworth for free. That's trading your Tim Lamb trading.

And when GC say "no, be grateful you're getting Humphrey" what then?

say "Now we'll take Rowell too if you wanna start that rubbish."

He came 4th in their B & F this year - not exactly nothing!

We are keeping Petracca then NAH NAH NA NA NA! Humphrey's not gonna win you a premiership he's only young. Petracca will win you a premiership Norm Smith Medalist look it up. WHAT DO YOU WANT A PREMIERSHIP OR HUMPHREY YOUR CHOICE. I'm starting to think I should take Lamb's job.

Where did Trac finish ? Second where has he finished most of his career ? In the top 5. Humphrey has done it once he has to prove he can do it time and time again like Trac has done that's why we are taking pick 7 as well.

Humphrey hasn't done it year after year because heโ€™s 21. That's what he's going to do when he comes to us. Petracca has done it year after year with us because heโ€™s 29, that doesn't benefit GC.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven Mayย

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.

Salem proved to be a valuable contributor as a reliable and solid one-on-one medium-sized defender in what was undoubtedly his most impressive season since the premiership year. He remains a highly capable rebounding option for the Demons as he approaches his 200th game at the club.
