Assuming Michael Oakes is Bailey's manager? Is there precedence for a Player Manager being removed during Trade Week? Wild if true.

There is a big twist coming. Michael Oakes maybe removed as player manager. Dees dont like this bloke at all after the dealings they have had with him. Im hearing he might be on the outer.

Just not sure if it happens before trade period ends

Now I'm getting excited!!!! I was told this am that Paul Connors is getting involved in the BH trade. I couldn't understand why given he isn't the manager for BH or Trac.

If Demon Forevers mail and mine are correct then one big step closer

I don’t want this thread to end. It’s so much fun. Once it ends, normal programming will resume and we’ll be back to bun fight mode 🙁

Once trade week ends it'll just be back to sacrificing Lambs and slinging poo at each other

Wow.

Surely if Bailey asked his manger to request a trade they couldn’t mess that up - COULD THEY!? 🤣

Talk about "You had one job..."

I mean, the whole point of a manager is to be a buffer or a conduit. Or both. If you don't like having difficult conversations, surely it's not the job for you.

Footy is a business.

What impact does a poor manager have in ANY business ??

There's your answer.

From what I gather Tracs manager is no world beater but seems to be making a good fist of extricating their client from a contract

Surely if BH has asked his manager to request GC for a trade behind the scenes then his manager has relayed that. All GC are doing is holding their player to their contract. That isn't the manager's fault. Remember we are wanting GC to do what we are angry at Trac for doing. And we are angry at GC for trying to get the best deal here like we want the Demons to do.

If the needle is to be moved I think the only play is for BH to come out and publicly plead his case.

I'm not convinced though that there is any real substance to any of these whispers that we are hearing on here as none of that is being played out in the media.

If there was ANY substance or even a HINT that BH was on the verge of firing his manager over this even the likes of Morris (with his imaginery Pro-Trac agenda that some one here think he has) would be screaming about this on Trade Radio.

That would be a HUGE story and yet there is nothing in the media about this.

I'm calling BS.

I tend to agree.

For GC this is their biggest exposure over the 🎪🤡🎪 They need the Tracc deal to show they're a genuine destination club and can make big boy decisions. Dont land him.. Not a good look.

Dees do deal..all well and good.

Dees not satisfied, hold on to Tracc. Well, we tried, they didn't try hard enough. Not end of world.

They might have the Bowers, we have the Joker

They haven’t had a player of tracs quality since gaz junior. It’s not only from an on field perspective that he makes them better with a fresh start, he brings soooo much attention with his cheffing hustle and grows both their club and the game in Queensland. They either cough up Humphrey now or he forces a trade next year whether it be us or another vic club. They’re only delaying the inevitable with all of his family issues which keep coming up.

It’ll be the most Melbourne thing ever if we miss out on Humphrey because his manager is a dud, and then he gets a new manager after the trade period and moves to a Hawthorn next year

The only thing more Melbourne would be the change in managers happening at the speed of light and the strong trade request coming at the eleventh hour, only for Hawthorn to swoop in like a seagull and steal our very talented chip.

Please do not manifest this 🤣

Well Julian Petracca works for Connors.

Connors WAS Trac's manager, and Trac left him last year, but it was my understanding that Paul would still help out if needed in relations to contracts, as Anna is not an accredited manager (that may have changed?)

If Connors is getting involved, then I assume Trac is getting nervous that this deal won't move, and at the same time I reckon Paul is sniffing a nice commission coming his way if he can get Humphrey to ditch his wet paper bag manager, and move over to the Connor group, while getting a fat juicy contract from the Dees.

Right? This thread is like the ones where we’re all listening to a tribunal appeal (think JvR a couple of years ago when he was done for a high hit on Matt Rowell) and we’re all on the same. These moments are fleeting; we should enjoy them when they present. Therefore, I solemnly hope this goes down to the wire and we won’t know the result until 7:29pm Wednesday 😁

That is the issue. I feel (IMO) that if Bailey comes out early enough, it may open the doors for other clubs to entertain him and try and trade for him. In this instance we would only be left with the picks. Are they waiting for enough time to elapse to make it happen without risk? I dont know

He can request a trade specifically to us tho.

I’m not religious but I’m on my knees manifesting this. Dear lord please I need that trade request immediately. It’s gonna hit like crack.

Quite possibly...

Humphrey's... not so much

Polar opposites it might seem.

One trying to get something happening and the other happens to be very trying...

1000000000% this.

The Petracca trade to GC is one of the biggest moves this offseason.

IF THERE WAS EVEN THE INKLING OF BAILEY HUMPHREY SACKING HIS MANAGER OVER NOT DOING ENOUGH TO FACILITATE A TRADE HOME AS PART OF THE TRAC DEAL THEN THE MEDIA WOULD BE ALL OVER IT.

Yet there is radio silence.

I absolutely get that we all want these rumours to be true and we all thrive for any skerrit of intel thrown our way during trade period but I fear we are all being hoodwinked by random posters on here with absolutely zero credits in the bank.

Will gladly eat humble pie if wrong but it is so unfair that people on here are being taken for a ride when there is absolutely no evidence of these wild rumours being talked about in the media.

True, but it provides GC with even more leverage

In terms of asking for a better deal in return for BH?

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
