Watch the vultures in the game thread when he makes a mistake as the only small in a backline against the Premier.

‘Well, we’ve wasted the Petracca Haul!1!1’

‘We never have good kids! Why can’t we be more like other teams I don’t watch?’

‘We just love picking players that can’t kick’ (pouty face)

I hope not rpfc he is going to be weapon for us sometime in the future, just like the rest of the kids that we recruited. I just hope that he gets a good run at it.

His potential and upside are HUGE so I have no doubts he can be a 200 game player, but I have watched him at Casey and thought he was a fair way off AFL standard, to be honest. Injuries rush him into the 23. His pace and evasion ability will surprise a few, but being set against the Lions forwards will be a massive first test.

I hope he kills it but reckon his lack of physical development might mean he struggles for impact.

Is it just the photos or is he skinny. The photos of him I have seen makes me wonder if he is up to the rough and tumble of senior level. He looks the skinniest kid to suit up since Tulip. We have to trust the Brains trust at the selection table. But gee it looks a tough job for a skinny kid in his first game against the best team in the competition.

Hope he gets played as the 7th defender (loose man)

A soft intro much like when a new test batsman used to start off as the no.6 (Ponting, G Chappell et al)

We know the Lions won't be playing a 7 man forward line so XT could just occupy an area in the backline

Love this draft pick, seems like such an awesome addition to the team and a big part of our future…just what we need and I reckon this guy has what it takes to be a big deal.

Can’t wait to see him out there!

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
