2025 Player Reviews: #19 Harvey Langford

Featured Replies

The tall, powerful early first-round draft pick from 2024, Langford had a remarkable debut season in both the midfield and playing up forward in patches. He finished fourth in the Rising Star Award. The youngster is viewed as a long-term, blue-chip midfielder with an exceptional future.

Wait for it, 195 cm 21 yo.

Our next Brownlow medallist.

Love Harvey Langford I was astounded that he got through to us at 6 bit of de javu like CP5 getting through to us at 2. This kid could end up being just as influential in our next tilt.

Hopefully more inside next year. Like the idea of him resting forward.

Such an incredible foundation already in place with this kid. Elite kicking skills, clean hands and elite footy smarts.

The type of mid we’ve craved for a while. Should be able to put out spot fires off half back, run through the midfield and provide a target deep when we need to snag a goal.

Should ask Luke Hodge to mentor him.

Ridiculously underrated by the league, his finish in the rising star demonstrates that.

He's far more valuable than murphy reid (but maybe i'm biased).

Given how impressive he was in just his first year, I can't wait to see what he does next year and beyond.

Definitely the future of our midfield.

Little wonder Tracc is jumping ship. In a year’s time he’ll be completely overshadowed by this kid. His only chance to avoid obscurity at Melbourne is to head elsewhere.

  • REPORT: Carlton

The text messages started flooding in shortly after quarter time. One read: “Is Melbourne even at the ground?” Moments later, as Carlton’s Elijah Hollands kicked the first goal of the second term, the Blues held a commanding 43-point lead. By then, the Demons’ only score was a behind kicked by Brody Mihocek nearly five minutes into the game. Ironically, Mihocek would also register the last minor score of the day after the game took a dramatic turnaround.
