Uhm… you saw him at Gosch’s? Why tf didn’t you tell me he was there?! You know I’m a stickybeak and that I simply have to know who every single person is at Gosch’s!!!

A thousand apologies - reckon his little cameo happened after training and as you know some of us track-watchers hang around to dissect the problems of the universe. Didn't give it another thought until I saw the press about this possible Cat B rookie.

On limited exposure how did he look?

Didn’t Tracc miss his first season with an ACL injury from home basketball?? 😮

Home basketball might’ve caused the broken toe that delayed his debut the season following his ACL.

Athletic. Determined. But I am no Jason Taylor.

I had a different take. Ball skills were excellent, lateral movement seemed good, good speed, ran in a straight line well, smiled when spoken to, disappointed not to be approached by Ghosty, body shape a bit like Sesso, good endurance, good teeth.

Did you notice any of those things?

You misspelled “Relieved” 😅

Why not? Everyone else is.

Here’s an idea, sounds crazy but hear me out…

Let’s give the guy a go.

I know, it’s so much easier to write him off before he even arrives at the club, based purely on the fact that he’s coming from a basketball background, but let’s see how he goes.

A chance.

Fancy that.

Round these here parts.

Yeah this. Missed a month of pre season or so.

Now that you mention all those traits....

Berry played AFL as a teenager and that is a big difference.

He is also not a skinny young ruckman hopeful, who is physically underdeveloped and knows little about the game.

Berry has never played AFL. You have the wrong information.

Yes, he’s never played AFL. Nobody has. Aussie Rules, on the other hand… many have played that, Oscar included.

Was just talking to a dear friend whose grandson started at the Western Jets at the same time Oscar was there and who said there’s every reason to believe Oscar will make it in the AFL.

Back in my day there were 70 players on a VFL list.

To be on a list you were most likely the best kid in your area, school or zone.

You had been kicking the footy since you were four years old.

There was no such thing as a development player who didn’t have a clue.

Sorry BBB but he apparently played in an under age granny the year that his family moved to USA. Aussie Rules.

I’ve told my kids if ever I start prefacing sentences with this they’re to ignore what follows.

Poor “kids” I mean children, there not goats.

They’re goats to me. G.O.A.Ts, all three of them 😉

What's this under age AFL granny you talk about. I only know of one AFL granny and its not for underage kids.

Australian Rules under age footy BBB.

DeeZone never said Oscar played in an AFL granny, but that he did play in an Aussie Rules granny. Learn the difference.

We’re on the same page, BBB. 👍🏽🙂

From his coaches notes at North Florida Ospreys he is 6’5” and 205 lb, similar size to Rick and Disco. Competive passion and determination not only stems from his basketball background but in his Australian Rules Football days. Oscar is a Marketing Graduate and is planning a Masters in Marketing. Seems like a self driven young man that could fill a hole at Dees.

Just out of curiosity BBB should I have posted ARF for Aussie rules?

Not all, just as long as you dont state he played AFL as a junior.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
