Itโ€™s been changed to high possession hand-balling game that keeps the ball moving forward as quick as possible. Problem is we donโ€™t have the skill to do it, so it only works now and then.

Casey were probably even worse proponents of the gameplan judged on their first half yesterday

Well the fog has lifted and I dont believe we can progress to finals where the Goody style could pull off another surprise.

So we can now deal in a dignified fashion to find a new coach and perhaps team. I am reluctant to recommend wholesale list management as we obviously have some champions in the group and also some very useful support.

With a temporary President, and CEO we now have a temporary coach. Lets use this period wisely to asses our next action.

Spot on. The brain is a wonder, but it can also work in mysterious ways.

Last night, I randomly dreamt about that round 9, 2021 match vs Carlton and woke up even more angry at that 1.7 final quarter than the result yesterday. Out of all matches to suddenly remember, it had to be that one.

Old habits always alive in spite of success and in a span of less than 5 years, we have experienced the highs and have been quickly bought back to our usual level and mediocrity of 2015.

We were never alive this season in hindsight, we were kidding ourselves.

With the season over effectively for nine of the 18 clubs my mind has turned to the nature of our competition and to wondering if like the EPL we need parallel competitions to maintain our interest.

The bottom nine are now only playing to "shape the eight". Having done that for 20 plus years after 1964 it no longer floats my boat.

Is there something else after death?

It doesnโ€™t float mine either. Watching ordinary football isnโ€™t that enjoyable

Skeleton Dying GIF

St Kilda have won 2 of their last 12 games. One of them an embarrassing loss for us. We are equal on the ladder and ahead marginally by percentage and after today we will likely go below them into the bottom four where we belong.

That's how well we are going.

So Goody keeps his job why? Sure won a flag & 2 finals in 18 vs 2 x straight sets & no finals in 17,20,24,25 is it the flag which is saving his bacon? The team is playing poorly and 2nd bottom 6 finishe, One score dosent make a summer!

Why ?

Short answer, because there's no one to sack him.

What should happen and what will likely happen.... 2 different things unfortunately.

We desperately need a circuit breaker as currently its like a b grade Halloween movie on repeat.
