Casey had another disappointing thrashing at the hands of GWS. Best players were Bonner, Sestan and Laurie. Possible line up for their match up against Richmond next Thursday morning.

B: Smith, Adams, Bonner

HB: Sestan, Kentfield, Woewodin

C: Billings, Laurie, Brown

HF: Henderson, Johnson, Mentha

F: Fritsch, van Rooyen, Jefferson

FOLL: Campbell, Culley, Hardie

IC: Verrall, Cross, George, Kirkwood-Scott, Yze

Normally you would think that forward line of Fritz, JVR , Jefferson would kick a bag full each but they are in so bad form like today they will struggle to get one between them.

16 AFL-listed - great to see. I guess one will come out as a carryover for tonight's game?

A distinctive 'chill' up here in the air this morning as I walked outside.

The Dry Season is with us.

Boil the kettle, get out the teapot, pop in the tea leaves.

If i was still in Melbourne add the tea cozy.

Allow 2-3 minutes for the tea to seep, using a tea strainer

pour out the tea into your favourite cup with saucer of course.

Cut a nice slice of cake (gluten free preferred) and settle down in

front of the telly.

Out come the Casey Demons young and old to face the tigers.

Wipe the dew of the Sherrin and let the game commence.

Casey against the wind first 5 minutes Campbell Culley prominent. 1 behind a piece.

Sestan and Adams going Ok in defence. Laurie getting well. AJ goal!

Too easy too soft (free) tiggers goal.

Verrall showing some ruck craft at the centre bounce.

Culley getting in and under.

Just now, KozzyCan said:

Breeze making it hard to get much of a read on things.

Casey importantly getting their hands on the ball. Playing with some cohesion.

JVR needs to swallow those marks. Dropped a pudding. Btw that wind looks fierce.

Aiden Johnson getting involved.

JVR good grab!

JVR has dropped 3 marks which despite the breeze, he should've taken as he got good hands on them all and simply dropped the pies. Howling gale blowing into the pocket, Casey holding up well at this stage and agree Johnson started well!

The wind at Casey destroys the game and makes it inappropriate as an AFL training ground. I am not sure that Caulfield would be any different. The solution needs to be a MCG sized ground with protection from the wind.

Tiggers bloke up before acceptances not a realistic attempt play on?

I don’t understand the reasoning behind playing Jefferson behind the ball. He was brought into the seniors as a forward yet he finds himself in the backline in his return from injury 🤷‍♂️

Conditions look exceptionally tough. Casey have done well against the breeze, hopefully our forwards will get an easier look in the second quarter. Most players playing well.

Bonner & Baldi playing well. Mentha showing a bit of dash and the back line with Howes and Adams held up well. The breeze will make it a bit of a raffle, it's almost so strong that even kicking with it may not be as advantageous as you'd normally associate as it is pushing into the pocket and making all kicks skew that way and tough to hit targets under any pressure.

JEFFO! Well judged mark at CHB.

Casey appear to have regained their modus operandi. Linking together well and retaining possession.

“Breeze” is blowing briskly to the left side of the screen. This Qt. with the wind.

JVR needs to take those grabs before he gets back into seniors I reckon.

Who is this Riley Bonner?? He was huge in last Casey game and already pretty involved today. I know nothing about him...is he new to the Casey list?

Second Qt underway 3 goal breeze according to the pundits.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
