No wonder if felt like we were back in 2014 🤣

I thought Petty made a few rookie errors. We have always been vulnerable with defensive ground balls.

But no May & McVee was part of that issue. Plus the lack of any defensive accountability up the ground in the midfield was always going to put the D6 under more pressure.

It was one game...hardly a trend. Lets see how it is on Sat before we start having meltdown 2.0

I don’t blame the defence so much as the midfield and the leadership. I don’t believe Nathan Jones is up to the job. But then again having to coach 4 Prima Donna’s as a rookie coach is a tough gig.

Midfield bombs it indiscriminately to no one i50? Blame the forwards!

Midfield lets oppo waltz out of stoppage under zero pressure? Blame the backline!

You gotta blame someone!

The game against the Roos should largely fall on the midfield. However, we have players who cannot move the ball quickly: May, Lever, Petty, Viney, Sparrow, McDonald, and to a degree, Rivers. They stop and look down the line first, and are too slow to react. Even when the ball is switched, it is still mark and prop, as the midfield does not move quick enough. Case in point: the Hawks. Once it's switched, it's all go. Gold Coast will try to play on and run at all times. Hopefully, not playing at the G much might be a little more difficult.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
