Brad joined the board in November 2020. He and the board have been asleep at the wheel.

The FD report directly to the board. The board is accountable.

Of course they are. But we need to replenish the Stocks of the Football Department and high Performance Management

I am sure they are well aware of that. It’s hard to fill assistant positions since COVID

Blame the AFL for that mess

He might be part of it SWYL but I hope at the least he is in deep conversation with Smith about when to pull the plug on Goody.

WE NEED A PLAN GOING FORWARD so that next season we can move full steam ahead. (Yes another wasted season this yr though).

Everybody needs to take some responsibility, i am not excusing anybody

But our problems are on field

Adam is just salty that Peter Lawrence is not on the Board

No, I blame the board.

They installed Pert (a disaster) instead of those PJ put forward, and then allowed messy legal battles to play out over Goody's head for at least 12-18 months.

And every club in the land has the same constraints vis a vis COVID, that's not a reasonable excuse. We got unlucky with Burgess wanting to move home. I think had we had him across 2022-2023 we'd have at least another flag, but the personnel inside the FD have clearly let standards plummet and continue to do so.

Green needs to make decisions now, the club is losing everything they worked so hard to get, through the Roos/Jackson era.

They are playing local football standard in the AFL

They were all walking around with their hands on hips & heads down, HALFWAY THROUGH THE FIRST BLO#*Y QUARTER

Goodwin & Griffiths are to blame for this & if Clarry Trac & Kozzie want out then [censored] THEM OFF, they’ve treated us like trash for over 12 months

I’ve gone in to bat for Clarry for 2 years, but I’m over what he’s done to the club & Trac still carrying on like a spoilt brat

Bet they’re still holding out their hand for the massive pay checks

I’ve spoken to plenty of us Dees supporters that won’t go again until Goodwin goes

I know you blame the Board. Your Candidate wasn’t elected.

Losing Burgess was a HUGE loss that was out of anyone’s control, yes i believe it cost us a Flag… But you cannot blame the Board for that

I am sure he is not the only one doing that Ox. The Club cannot afford to stand still. The damage only increases

If he hasn't the stones to do what's required.... then he's as much the problem as anyone.

Any chance Jackson coming back and fixing us for a second time?

He has a job to do right now. If he doesn’t, he should step aside. But we also need to find a replacement, putting in the wrong replacement would be catastrophic

It can’t all happen in an hour

You are correct.Brad unfortunely is totally ineffectual can't be him!

Watch him barbecued as the sacrifice by board members who

Escape scrutiny

Money always talks. Another crucial reason we didn’t snag a 2nd Flag…

And have the board say they were implicitly responsible? The board could have had PJ undertake the external review at the end of the last year. Instead they had Pert review himself.

Wish I could review myself at work !!

wasn't green the football director? the board member that understands football and independent of the footy dept.

why didn't he see this train wreck coming?

Maybe he did and is already working on it. I haven’t spoken to Brad directly for 18 months, but i don’t think he is solely responsible for this mess, as has been suggested earlier in this thread

He is president with seeming ly no power

As I mentioned months ago, Brad’s a nice guy however he doesn’t have the cajones to make these decisions. He shouldn’t be in the position he finds himself in.

and what exactly do you want him to do right now Kent?

Goodwin is done, personally i wish he had been replaced after the ‘23 Season, but that wasn’t to be

Who replaces him?

They’ve got to be a serious Coach to get this list firing

Quick reactions often backfire

We need Top Shelf

I am hoping the same process is taking place with the CEO

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
