In terms of personnel available is there anyone we can bring in at the moment or is it a case of moving deck chairs on the titanic?

There were supposedly rumours about May and Lever being injured prior to the game.

Does the panel think we’ve got any players carrying injuries into games (circa 2022) other than perhaps Max Gawn?

It seems to be this part of the season where so many players are carrying niggles or injuries they can play through but must remedy at the close of the season.

I'm not convinced Max was 100% fit. We obviously rushed him back due to the predicament that we find ourselves in but Max clearly was not over his injury and it showed.

Our disposal efficiency in this game was just putrid. Our handling of the ball, possibly due to the conditions, was also subpar. After the first quarter I thought the Giants adjusted to the conditions much better than we did. They handled the ball better, knocked it better and used it quickly and efficiently.

We just could not handle the ball well and when we did we could not move it on quickly and slow played and either kicked to a contest or directly to an opposition player.

Whenever we tried to move quickly it was if the ball was made of soap or we simply made terrible decisions. It's very frustrating.

august is traditionally the month that assistant coaches are told that they're being re-contracted or not - already david teague has left the tiggas as he wants to be a 'ball movement' style coach not a forward line coach

do you think we will see change to our assistant coaching ranks in 2025?

as a corollary to that, how much change is too much?

As always thank you to our intrepid hosts for bringing us this podcast week in week out. Although Andy you can go back on holidays. We were unstoppable against some of the competitions best while you were on your junket and now have crashed down to earth upon your return. In all seriousness welcome back.

And welcome back to Clarry Oliver. So good to see him tearing it up on the G. I just wish he had his partner in crime Petracca by his side. Would certainly have made a difference on Saturday night.

It was fantastic that he could shut out all the noise from the bleating media about him being on the trade table. I can't wait until the trade week silly season is over and we can put this nonsense to bed.

Hopefully with a full preseason under his belt and his life back to some normalcy he will be tearing it up more consistently next season.

You can also add the one where Tom Green was clearly in the 5 metre protected area when Petty marked on 50. Would have been a certain goal.

Worst part of this one is that as Petty was running in for goal, instead of paying the 50, the umpire started shouting get back Tom, get back Tom, which probably was a bit of a distraction for Petty...

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
