On my way to Gosch’s. Hoping that unlike on Tuesday, they’re actually here this morning!

Edited by WalkingCivilWar

I need too get the laundry done could you pick that up and do it.  You seem to have enough time to  do things that are important.  Both the training and the laundry are important.

thanks in anticipation

Dragged my sad n sorry arze off the couch to come here. Really should be at home but I’m meeting my *Gosch’s girls here, didn’t wanna let ‘em down.

*three delightful teenage girls whom I met at Gosch’s in the off-season and who are too shy to ask the players for selfies/autographs therefore need someone with more front than Myer to do it for them and that’s where I come into the picture. 😁

Here’s my comment about training…they trained.

That’s pretty much all I’ve got because I saw Kev there and asked him to do a training report. 😁

I did watch a loooong session of some of the boys taking shots at goal. Two words: Chin Chandler. Nailing shots from the boundary on ridiculous angles, a joy to behold. You don’t need to watch Chin kicking for goal because as soon as it leaves his boot he knows if it’s going through in which case he’s silent. But if it’s not going through be lets loose with a very loud “OH [censored]!!!” 😂

I’m out front of yours right now. Where the hell are you?

Bear in mind I’m PT-ing it. Your laundry basket better be on wheels.

Back in the day we had some deelightful teenage girls in the CS wanting to meat players.  Non too shy if I remember

maybe these girls are grand daughters of those same girls.   Do any of them resemble old melb players ?

I met a lovely couple from WA at Gosch’s. It’s their daughter’s eighth birthday and to celebrate they’ve come over for training today and the match tomorrow. Demonland readers but not posters. Just wanted to let you guys know it was awesome to meet you and I apologise for running off suddenly but there were players to annoy. 😝 Enjoy the match tomorrow!

Misty feel about the morning.

Backs first out with Petty and TMac interacting with them.

Suggest Hunter the sub. Woey was doing plenty of plays.

Setting themselves with slings along the boundary connecting the backs to mids.

From the mid-stoppages to central corridor, the spread out the back.

Kossie is in his own zone.

No need to open the door. I got in through the window. Love what you’ve done with the house.

All good MD. Hard to take a large screen TV on the train anyways.

Unrelated: Soz about leaving your undies drawer in a mess. And you really should open a bank account… it’s much safer.

I wouldn’t mention it since it seems some people believe it shouldn’t have happened. ☹️

Everyone left when the players finished up but I stayed and watched the Casey boys for a bit. Not because I’m a dedicated fan but because my Gosch’s girls are crushing hard on Kolt and wanted to stay and watch him. I thought a Rooey fix would’ve been enough for them, but clearly not. Oh, to be 17 again.

No one in their right mind.  You iron it before you hang it out ...

Have the leaves finished falling yet at GP?

Many thanks

PS Out of interest does the oval suffer from dog droppings or is someone on pre training pooper scooper duty

Oh if only you had been around when I was going to training and was 17 and too shy to talk to the players.  I spent hours not talking to Sean Wight whilst sitting on the picket fence at the G with him after he did his knee (wish I'd talked to him, he always waved to me if he saw me thereafter, think he remains my favourite ever player, even more than Robbie).  Then we moved to the Junction Oval from the G and that was the pits.  Russell Richards and the Febey twins would give me a lift up to the city since they were driving to Seymour and the walk back to St Kilda station was unpleasant.

These days I've got the guts go to talk to people, cos they are people, but I'm also old and married.  And in another country, which makes going to training difficult.

Round 12 kicks off with the Brisbane hosting Essendon at the Gabba as the Lions aim to solidify their top-two position against an injury-hit Bombers side seeking to maintain momentum after a win over Richmond. On Friday night it's a blockbuster at the G as the Magpies look to extend their top of the table winning streak while the Hawks strive to bounce back from a couple of recent defeats and stay in contention for the Top 4. On Saturday the Suns, buoyed by 3 wins on the trot, face the Dockers in a clash crucial for both teams' aspirations this season. The Suns want to solidify their Top 4 standing whilst the Dockers will be desperate to break into the 8.

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

The media has performed a complete reversal in its coverage of the Melbourne Football Club over the past month and a half. Having endured intense criticism from all quarters in the press, which continually identified new avenues for scrutiny of every aspect, both on and off the field, and prematurely speculated about the departures of coaches, players, officials, and various employees from a club that lost its first five matches and appeared out of finals contention, the narrative has suddenly shifted to one of unbridled optimism.  The Demons have won five of their last six matches, positioning themselves just one game (and a considerable amount of percentage) outside the top eight at the halfway mark of the season. They still trail the primary contenders and remain far from assured of a finals berth.

  • REPORT: Sydney

A few weeks ago, I visited a fellow Melbourne Football Club supporter in hospital, and our conversation inevitably shifted from his health diagnosis to the well-being of our football team. Like him, Melbourne had faced challenges in recent months, but an intervention - in his case, surgery, and in the team's case, a change in game style - had brought about much improvement.  The team's professionals had altered its game style from a pedestrian and slow-moving approach, which yielded an average of merely 60 points for five winless games, to a faster and more direct style. This shift led to three consecutive wins and a strong competitive effort in the fourth game, albeit with a tired finish against Hawthorn, a strong premiership contender.  As we discussed our team's recent health improvement, I shared my observations on the changes within the team, including the refreshed style, the introduction of new young talent, such as rising stars Caleb Windsor, Harvey Langford, and Xavier Lindsay, and the rebranding of Kozzy Pickett from a small forward to a midfield machine who can still get among the goals. I also highlighted the dominance of captain Max Gawn in the ruck and the resurgence in form in a big way of midfield superstars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver.

  • POSTGAME: Sydney

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.
