I am bullish about us this season.  Top 4 ( us, giants, bears and pies).  Suspect we turn 5:1 at the bye.  Will love spending many hours with you across the season.

Who will be the biggest improver?

How much will TMAC and BBB contribute?

Who is your biggest ‘smokey’ to be a regular (cf. last year).

What are the chances of Blake Howes being this season’s Judd McVee?  🤞

Kozzie attending 8+ centre bounces per game looks like a no brainer, he’s almost unstoppable. It also frees him up, boosts his confidence and is a nightmare matchup for oppo’s.

Have the MFC brains trust got the brains to make this move consistently throughout the year?

There seems a lot more flexibility through the midfield   -  will Tracc and Clayton spend more time forward with more mid time from Salo, Sparrow and maybe Rivers.

Are Woey and Pup Brown likely to become regulars and if so are Chandler and Laurie vulnerable?

Looking forward to (as the year progresses) hearing of the progress of Jefferson and Adams in particular as future KPP

The whole team looked in far better synch last week - hopefully a predictor of the season.

GO DEES.

After a long hiatus over the summer (necessary to recover from last year’s disappointment), I’m now ready for the season and am more optimistic than I was two months ago. Not as bullish as I was last year—I had predicted top-2 and a GF berth last year—but confident we can make top-4 assuming an average injury run.

Four questions :

1. Which team is our greatest threat this year?

2. Who do you think will be our top goal kicker and who our most reliable goal kicker (shots to goal ratio)?

3. What adjustments to our on-field and off-field load management strategy do you think we’ll make or should make to get through the long season and peak in September?

4. Finally, at what round and minimum ladder position should I consider investing in the GF guarantee? 😁

Thanks and looking foreword to another great season of the podcast!

Good take on Max - he looks like he’s had enough (in a good way) and is ready to play angry 😤

Yes

Great listening as usual guys.  Thanks!
I reckon Bin nailed the Brownlow prediction 😄

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
