Blake Howes seemed to be walking fine after the game.

Thatโ€™s good. He is developing nicely and pressing for a chance.

As Tommo played the game out, I assume Petty is also ok.

I liked Adams game, even though his opponent got a few goals, though maybe not his fault with a soft free on one. Thought he was starting to look assured. He has a beautiful kick on him too. Could be ok in the future.

I thought Tom Freeman 67 for Casey played well today. Does anyone have info on him, his age, size. Looked very composed in the backline? Would he be worth a rookie spot next year?

EH this article from theย  MFC website archive may provide some illumination.

VFL: Tom Freeman: Making his mark

I like the look of Verrall. Heโ€™s going to take time but he moves and thinks like a footballer, which is rare for young rucks.ย

Broke his left wrist in a training mishap

Yes, I had a talk to Disco at the game. He's out for around 8 weeks having had surgery to repair a fracture in his wrist. I didn't know he had also damaged some ribs that he has been hindered by. He said it will be good to get that healed properly during his time out. Seemed pretty confident he would be back in time for finals. In another piece of interesting news I overheard Richo talking to Choco saying it was the best game he has seen AMW play. Seems to be coming along nicely.

Nah this is a [censored] take.

To play 100 games at two different clubs is a rare feat now days.

A nice little acknowledgement would have been nice still. Takes a lot of hard work and sacrifice to get to that position and he's given the club fantastic service over the years.

Not sure what a post about Melksham is doing under the Casey thread but I agree it should have been acknowledged by Melbourne. Importantly it means his children are now eligible to play for Mebourne under Father/Son, Father/Daughter rulesย ๐Ÿ˜€

He is certainly quite mobile and has a good leap - he was well beaten in the ruck by a much stronger opponent - the strength and knowledge to counter that will come with one or two more pre seasonsย

Every game he gets through given his delayed start this year is a bonus in terms of his developmentย

I think he has potential to be a good ruck / forward given timeย

Adams - Agree it was one of his better games - he managed to take a few marks and his disposal was very solid. He will get better when he gets more used to playing against bigger bodies and builds some additional strength. Another pre-season will do him a lot of good.

Jefferson - one of his quieter days and he didn't hit the scoreboard. I am still not sure he will make it at AFL level however he did take a couple of a good marks in Q3 that suggests he does have potential. I'm living in hope that with another couple of seasons he will muscle up and possibly even become our version of JUH. I can still remember Jamarra's early games where he looked pretty timid and anything but a key position forward. Fingers crossed and I hope he spends a lot of time in the gym over summer.ย

Jefferson is ok and should make it with physical development, while Adams is improving each week and looks a chance.

Jefferson's physicality is slowly improving.ย  Throwing himself in to some heavier contested marking now.

He's clunking the odd one here and there.

Even the best drop a number of these at times.

Hopefully he's using the grippo plus his hands / confidence should improve over time.

Another off-season and we should start seeing something pretty special on the horizon at some point in 2024.

Fingers crossed as he's a nice mover and decent in front of goal when he's on.

Very natural and relaxed with his set shot.

Can see him as the medium sized tall that drifts across and in front of packs at times a la Fritta and the Duke.ย  Hopefully a much better kick at goal than Earl.
