Really wish they had an option to not have the pom pom on the top.

Azz, Azz you gotta have the pom! How else do we identify as typical Melbourne snowflakes!

Nah but I do get it.

Layz, the issue is it doesn't sit right with my headphones on and as I catch public transport 4 days a week from Kilmore to the city this just will not do.

Hot tip. Don't cut it off, untie it.

The pom pom would be actually looped on as both the pom pom and beanie are a fully fashion knit, hence no stitching is used. If you cut it, you will inevitably cut the knit itself which will unravel the whole thing.

Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

Are you here all week? Should I try the veal or the chicken tikka masala in the cafeteria? 😀

I hear ya. It is a pretty snug fitting beanie and I'm guessing you've got some nice over ear headphones, not the best mix for long duration commutes and comfort.

Definitely give Jaded's untying trick a go!

Not a very snug fit on a undersized cranium like mine, but I will definitely be doing what jaded suggested with my big freeze 9 beanie

I never thought in my life I'd go to a game thread and read a whole suppository on beanie pom poms....

Interesting but perhaps not the right choice of word there, @Katrina Dee Fan!

My doctor once prescribed suppositories but, not only did they taste terrible, they did nothing and I may as well have stuck them up my backside.

Tx Ds, once again for keeping us bums on here honest.

You never considered it was an intended thing to reference the Rabbit Man?

That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!!

They sell socks.  They don't have a pom pom.  Buy a pair of those and stick one of those on your head.

Then what will I do with the other one? Seems like a bit of a waste.

A hand puppet of course.  Some of the questions people ask.  Good grief.

But I will only have one hand puppet and it will be lonely.

I assume you will find a way to keep the other hand amused.  Or if it is such a bother, go and explain your concerns with Neil.  I am sure he will be keen to take time away from his MND fight to help with your 1st world pom pom debacle.

Wear whatever the heck you like.  Big freeze 9 beanie, big freeze 9 beanie sans pom pom, a sock on your head.  Just get behind this cause.  I have derailed this thread enough.  To repent I shall drop a bit of money at the following  https://fightmnd.org.au/big-freeze-9-homepage/

I was so looking forward to attending this game, however I have an emergency travel overseas to see my family in June. Oh well will try to somehow watch it live (does anyone know about a trusty VPN).

I’m in Luzon Philippines and use AFL.com

$44 month or $15 a week I think.
I’ll be back for KB

This is such a fantastic achievement. I have a colleague that helps out with the Big Freeze organisation and I was quite sad to learn that this awful disease gets very little attention on the global scale.

That's a great effort.

Moreover I reckon it's been achieved by people who have been doing it tough in today's economy.

I guarantee it's not high fliers and Murdoch's handing over their easy earned.

  • NON-MFC: Round 07

Round 7 gets underway in iconic fashion with the traditional ANZAC Day blockbuster. The high-flying Magpies will be looking to solidify their spot atop the ladder, while the Bombers are desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top eight. Later that evening, Fremantle will be out to redeem themselves after a disappointing loss to the Demons, facing a hungry Adelaide side with eyes firmly set on breaking into the top four. Saturday serves up a triple-header of footy action. The Lions will be looking to consolidate their Top 2 spot as they head to Marvel Stadium to clash with the Saints. Over in Adelaide, Port Adelaide will be strong favourites at home against a struggling North Melbourne. The day wraps up with a fiery encounter in Canberra, where the Giants and Bulldogs renew their bitter rivalry. Sunday’s schedule kicks off with the Suns aiming to bounce back from their shock defeat to Richmond, taking on the out of form Swans. Then the Blues will be out to claim a major scalp when they battle the Cats at the MCG. The round finishes with a less-than-thrilling affair between Hawthorn and West Coast at Marvel. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.

The Dees are back at the MCG on Thursday for the annual blockbuster ANZAC Eve game against the Tigers. Can the Demons win back to back games for the first time since Rounds 17 & 18 last season? Who comes in and who goes out?
