Apologies as this game is a while away but I've already booked flights with a mate and am looking forward to getting up there for a bit of sunshine (and hopefully a win!).

Is anyone else going up for the game?  Are there any social functions on?

Iโ€™ll be going up there, D Rev. Booked flights as soon as that part of the fixture was announced. As for pre- and post-match meetups, when itโ€™s a little closer to that match Iโ€™ll find out where people will be going (Dees-friendly establishments) and post it on DL. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ

Iโ€™m just down the road near Bangalow so will be going and taking the eldest (8) to his first game. Wife and #2 (4yo,   He and wife are pies) coming too

return leg for the pies suns game couple weeks later

be good to see the daicoseseses and Pendlebury

It's to the prematch function but it doesn't work overly well for me. I assume it's because I don't have Facebook.

View point like that, the Suns will recruit you.

Dees fans congregate before/after the match at Emerald Lakes Golf Club which has a sports bar. Itโ€™s a very short walk to the ground.

Tip: bring an empty water bottle to the game as they make you empty yours before entering the stadium. You can then refill it inside.

Sounds like a plan.

Sounds awesome mate, in hindsight I wish I'd stayed a little longer but needs must at home. Let me know if you want to catch up

This is where Iโ€™ll be pre-gameโ€ฆ

A pregame function has been organised by the Queensland Demonsโ€ฆ

https://m.facebook.com/events/965645011482317/?acontext={"source"%3A"29"%2C"ref_notif_type"%3A"plan_user_associated"%2C"action_history"%3A"null"}&notif_id=1681080919784149&notif_t=plan_user_associated&ref=notif&wtsid=rdr_0NwqigKZOlLusaOtb

It clashes with the Casey game which is the curtain-raiser for the main game. Personally, Iโ€™ll be at the Casey game but the function is there for anyone whoโ€™s interested.

Just another reminder that Kalani White will be playing in an under-16s Academy match vs Sydney Academy at 10:30am on Sunday the 7th of May (the day after our match) at Heritage Bank Stadium and has expressed his wish for as many Dees fans as possible to come and watch the match. โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’™

Would love to be up there as Metricon is a great relaxed venu to watch footy from.  Great memories of watching of watching Harmes and Hunt play great break out games there in 2016.  But alas, I'll be here in the Melbourne cold.

Do many people get to the Sporting Globe venues for interstate games?  My local is Chirnside Park.

There was a time during the current Melbourne cycle that goes back to before the premiership when the club was the toughest to beat in the fourth quarter. The Demons were not only hard to beat at any time but it was virtually impossible to get the better them when scores were close at three quarter time. It was only three or four years ago but they were fit, strong and resilient in body and mind. Sadly, those days are over. This has been the case since the club fell off its pedestal about 12 months ago after it beat Geelong and then lost to Carlton. In both instances, Melbourne put together strong, stirring final quarters, one that resulted in victory, the other, in defeat. Since then, the drop off has been dramatic to the point where it can neither pull off victory in close matches, nor can it even go down in defeat  gallantly.

  • CASEY: Footscray

At twenty-four minutes into the third term of the game between the Casey Demons and Footscray VFL at Whitten Oval, the visitors were coasting. They were winning all over the ground, had the ascendancy in the ruck battles and held a 26 point lead on a day perfect for football. What could go wrong? Everything. The Bulldogs moved into overdrive in the last five minutes of the term and booted three straight goals to reduce the margin to a highly retrievable eight points at the last break. Bouyed by that effort, their confidence was on a high level during the interval and they ran all over the despondent Demons and kicked another five goals to lead by a comfortable margin of four goals deep into the final term before Paddy Cross kicked a couple of too late goals for a despondent Casey. A testament to their lack of pressure in the latter stages of the game was the fact that Footscrayโ€™s last ten scoring shots were nine goals and one rushed behind. Things might have been different for the Demons who went into the game after last weekโ€™s bye with 12 AFL listed players. Blake Howes was held over for the AFL game but two others, Jack Billings and Taj Woewodin (not officially listed as injured) were also missing and they could have been handy at the end. Another mystery of the current VFL system.

  • PREGAME: Brisbane

The Demons head back out on the road in Round 10 when they travel to Queensland to take on the reigning Premiers and the top of the table Lions who look very formidable. Can the Dees cause a massive upset? Who comes in and who goes out?

Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.
