Rather retain Tomlinson - by a proverbial mile.

I mentioned that you may have missed it because of your poor judgement. Weid has improved his competitiveness in the ruck and most Casey and /L ers agreed his work in the last half of the season mostly on his own was both his best and most impactful with the packs and round the ground.

No One  in their right mind would go in with Harmes and Joel Smith as AFL rucks less the ground was an absolute bog. Yes setting up right is vital but goes both ways either your taps or opponents do why not get your own as well.

Your assessment of Weids contribution in the ruck to Casey Demons Flag is both insulting and inaccurate in view of the whole hearted effort and absolute attitude plus improvement that he produced in  the last  half a season.

Sounds like your emotionally connected to this guy. Chill out. Is this the same back up ruck that can't get a game and the club appear happy to trade to Essendon for a packet of chips?

Bruce is a gateway player

Very good @binman.

Apologies for the tardy response...spent the weekend glued to the Picasso.

So is the “Josh Bruce - Adam Tomlinson” trade deal just smoke? Hope it’s just that and fades away.  As most know, I don’t rate Josh Bruce as a good addition.

This thread was based on a hoax, which was established a couple of days ago, yet here it it still is ten pages later.

Get a grip, Demonlanders!

some people get proper brutal and aggressive on here towards others ideas and towards professional footballers, some of whom have had successful 10+ year careers. a weid-bruce swap would be worthwhile if we think we won't be able to re-sign weid next year after anothre year of vfl predominantly and given the squeeze at WB. could easily be our number 1 key forward by the bye u just never know. offer him 2 years on 350-400 and you've got yourself a deal i say. feel the criticism is unjustified and the faith in players under 20yo and under 10 games to just walk into a top 2 side and win a flag is probably too strong. look at the way the cats operate, 2-3yrs at vfl level before players get a crack to let them size up and be properly prepared. we're not a bottom side requiring to expose talent anymore, we're premiership contenders so we need depth who can take us there and bruce is a proven game changing key forward when he's up and running

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
