OK.  A few minutes away from all the contract talk; there is a game to be played in a few days!

This thread is a bit late this week as not much to report.  The bf posters seem fixated with selections and very little about the game/opposition.  A bit of pessimism no optimism.

  • We need ruck cover or Melbourne will destroy us, if we play Murray again our defence will get opened up.
  • They can't accept ROB getting smashed every week. Jackson will destroy him with his athleticism and pace. At least Murray has a bloody good leap on him and will compete at centre bounces
  • Not complaining about the ruck, he impacted really well. but if we go with just Butts as a tall while he rucks we will get opened up down back. North didn't make us pay, Melbourne will.
  • If he (Crouch) plays melbourne will isolate fritsch on him and fritsch will kick 8 on him. Clubs wont let him be an intercept, they will play through his man and work a favorable match up
  • if we pick Frampton, Melbourne will stick someone (like Fritsch) on him and tell the mids to play through Frampton who is not good one-on-one.
  • Nathan Schmook on afl.com seems to think a Newchurch debut (for McAdam) should be a lock.
  • His call is Newchurch for McAdam, Jones for Hamill and and Thilthorpe to return for McHenry.
  • Nah, this will be a lot closer than anyone will believe.  We match up so well on them, particularly in the mid field.... wait.

My favourite:

  • We would get done for tanking playing Davis.

I’m so far from confident after last years debacle.

Never fear Mr G.

They don't have Seedsman this year.  We will be ready for their 'charge the defence through the corridor' tactic.

Also, we have now learnt to defend a lead so they won't beat us again in the final 8 minutes after being 16 points down.

With a bit of luck it will be umpired better not that it should have come to that, last year.

Dees by 6-8 goals!

I don't know about others but I was starting to take wins for granted, and this came to a head in the Hawks win as well as the WC/North fortnight.

Definitely won't be taking this win for granted given how tight the ladder is and the fact they beat us last year.

Hopefully last year's loss will sharpen their attitudes going into Saturday.

Fritsch will kick 8

I hope so! It’s his 100th game!

Adelaide have not improved from last year as I thought and wont get close on Saturday. Dees by 45.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Geelong

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
