How has this absolute nothingburger of a thread attracted 75 posts?

(Apart from nuffies like me responding, that is)  :D

I get that the majority think the noise of tracc when planking is irrelevant.

I think it indicates his mental weaknesses, immaturity and disrespect to team mates and the trainers.

Please don't call me nuts, or a nuffie or suggest I am not part of the "we" in this forum. They are personal attacks. If you can't see that then you have become desensitised to how you treat others..Those names are borderline nasty, I will ask those throwing them out, to not do it. Even if with some humorous intention.

@BAMF

Kev your original and some following comments were correct.

BUT it is a very nuanced observation.

There are many features of the exercise which we are all still unsure of and indeed like any comments need to be taken in context and awareness of intent.

You are dead right about the need for positive behaviour and attitude to be displayed as an instinctive action.

There is nothing worse than the bowed head, the hands on hips , knees etc. There is also the need for disappointment and negative reality displayed at times so the context must always be considered.

i have adopted the name dpositive for that reason and hope I always offer positive support, I do so in advising you to give up. It was a good point well put you don't have to justify it any further.

That's the way mate, keep attacking.

You're have no understanding of the other.

Who is olisik or Dr D?

Must be only addressing your inner circle.

Mate, I have a right to express myself on this open forum, without the constant attacks.

But well done, your circle must be getting chuffed about your inputs.

So much wisdom, to impart!

Can't wait for the next snipe.

nuffie

A term used to describe people that are mentally retarded (or just plain stupid). Derived from the term nuff nuff.

I’m jealous that you don’t know who Olisik or Dr.D is tbh

But you completely mistook my comment. If you read carefully, you would know that I didn’t attack you, I attacked your comment (or rather, I took the mickey out of it).

There’s a difference between criticism of a post and criticism of the poster. I clearly made no remarks towards you mate, just your post. You’re not a nuffie.

But your post on the other hand…. ?

As a leader, could be setting an example.

Do we want the lot of them carrying on.

He could be pushing himself more, not just getting through.

Lead by example, train as you would play.

Then take the training into game day.

Sorry but this is a very silly thread.

He would have had 35 & 5 if he didn’t avoid planks, room for growth

Is it, why comment then?

Again, how would it be if all expressed discomfort with an exercise?

What is it like for team mates close to him who may also be struggling?

I suggest he has some mental weaknesses and immaturity.

I am happy to discuss, but one liners like yours are just going to annoy those who are like you in opinion and would prefer a thread like this being forgotten because of its triviality.

You will upset my fan base!

Have you ever physically exerted yourself to the point of exhaustion? I have and I swore a lot, when it came to action time it was game face on, no weakness or immaturity. As we witnessed last night, Petracca is a professional.

Not an attack Kev, you’re obviously entitled to your opinion.

He wasn’t exhausted,  he was bunging it in on for the camera and, I thought, displaying his subconscious attitude to effort.

He had a good game, and is a match winner for us. Just believe he still has plenty of growth.

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

It seems like only yesterday that these two sides faced off against each other in the centre of the continent. It was when Melbourne was experiencing a rare period of success with five wins from its previous six matches including victories over both of last year’s grand finalists.  Well, it wasn’t yesterday but it was early last month and it remains etched clearly in the memory. The Saints were going through a slump and the predicted outcome of their encounter at TIO Traeger Park was a virtual no-brainer. A Melbourne victory and another step closer to a possible rise into finals contention. Something that was unthinkable after opening the season with five straight defeats.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.
