Mitch Brown coming in off a 4 day break just won't happen, another  non performance from the tall will see him in for the Lions.

He won't play at Casey next week if this the case on Friday Night, they'll hold him over till friday week.

I tend to agree so IN :SALEM OUT: JETTA

Casey Demons Munro 3 Bedford M Brown White 2 Baker Chandler Jones

Sydney Swans McDonald 3 Gray Maguire Morrison

Grey kicked a goal Munro only kicked 2

Interesting that Lockhart and Baker were in the best.

Always wondered if Lockhart gets an extended go at AFL level whether he can make it. Has pace, courage, can mark the ball and is a neat kick.

Yep, it would be sensible to rotate Bedford, ANB and Kossie. I like ANB (sometimes), but can be very inconsistent and Kossie as an early career player will undoubtedly need the rest soon.

I'd add Chandler to that mix, too.

I know he looked out of his depth a little against Carlton but he has shown enough at the lower level to suggest it's only a bit of belief that is required.

Then you have 5 players in that role - Spargo, ANB, Kozzy, Bedford and Chandler - plus a few mids that can do it as well e.g Viney and Sparrow.

We need to make sure that group is fresh every week because our game plan is highly reliant on those tackles sticking and it was evident against Adelaide that those boys were tired.

It's not a running issue - they were gut running. The final part of the pressure puzzle just wasn't to the usual standard.

Structural integrity.

Any chance they could try Jake Bowey on a wing or forward flank, his delivery i50 would be handy

Locky has all the attributes of a back pocket and IMO should mind Weightman on Friday night.

He was cruelly discarded about 2/3 of the way into 2020 by Goody. It seemed they any error he made was totally against his selection.

Niw that he had be played a really good game ( and regained fitness) he should be given the chance instead of Lord  Nev who is sadly not fast enough.

If Goody had played Locky all year in 2020 he would have had another few games and be really ready for the AFL now.

We need a smaller player with speed  as all the mediums and talls flew last week and resulted in a goal out the  back.

Hibbo May get the call up for Bont minding but has he the full tank?

We need to look at our list and not keep going back to Melky  and Nev and give younger players a chance that will  improve our speed and run!

This will mean  they are ready for Finals  type pressure as injuries and form can dictate selection st any time.

Give Locky a go and I was disappointed Chandler ( yes he was not great vs Blues ) but needed at least another match to be fair.

We need to pick a running side because if we don't we will be too slow chasing the Dogs!!

It was definitely peculiar that Lockhart had played quite a bit then just disappeared and never seemed to be in contention again.

Agree with you totally on Lockhart ..he has class speed and passion-goes 150% all the time.. Also agree on the need to bring more players through for the experience rather than waiting till later in the year if injuries occur. They need games under their belt. I would include Crawford and Daw in this too.

Picket the perfect antidote after crowgate!  Your insightful and entertaining prose painted the rural idyll of the  Fields of Casey magnificently.
We almost had visions of Geoffrey and Leigh-Anne flying in pre-bounce in a pink helicopter!

Admittedly we are still contemplating your allusions to Swanettes and Slitheras. Advisedly keep out of the long grass!

Found your pen portraits of the listed MFC most insightful. Would be good for some of those lads to get a call up to AFL level and perform well.

Still processing your homespun philosophy overall a top read cheers!

He seems to be coming along very nicely. He looks set in that back half role.

I think our forward half pressure players are doing well because they're all fit with mature bodies that can stick those tackles, so I wouldn't be adding him to that mix.

The wing could work, though.

We’ve checked this out and KC is correct. Munro kicked three goals.

Watch the all the goals replay. Grey kicks a goal.

  • PREVIEW: Collingwood

Way back in March we contemplated the possibility of a Demon resurgence after Simon Goodwin’s summer of love. Many issues at the club had seemingly been addressed, key players were returning from injury and a brand new day was about to dawn. We imagined the coach pulling a rabbit out of a hat. The team would roar up the charts, push aside every opponent and make its way to a Grand Final ending in ultimate triumph with Goody and Max holding the premiership cup aloft under a shower of red and blue ticker tape.

We’re back! That was fun. The Mighty Dees’ Season 10 campaign is off toa flying start with a commanding 48-point winover the Western Bulldogs, retaining the Hampson-Hardeman Cup in style. After a hard-fought first half in slippery conditions, the Dees came out in the second half and showcased their trademark superior class, piling on four goals in the third termand never looked back.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
