The 1970 Grand Final Highlights from many different sources apart from HSV 7

First game I remember going to as a 7 year old

I can still remember the noise

I was listening to it and  and spewed with Coll/wood being in front by 7 odd goals something like that at half time.

I remember listening to the radio and they were calling it over Carlton cannot possibly win.  seems like yesterday.

Yes it’s great to hear the different calls

I had only heard Ch7 up until today

Thanks for that SWYL. Has got to be the greatest Plan B performance by any coach, ever. Barassi was a genius.

i wonder what Goodwin would have done at half time if he were in Barassi’s shoes?

tbh it would be a lot harder today, so many tactics have been used and abused since 1970, to play on was radical!

But Goodwin certainly has a lot of work to do on his Matchday Coaching

He seems to work better from the Bench.

Stared thoughtfully out of the coaches box rubbing his chin....and did nothing.

Yay, another unrelated thread turns into Goodwin bashing.

I blame the pandemic on Goodwin, he had no plan P

Great get, Sir WYL, thanks for sharing. Goodwin-Bashing shall hereafter be referred to as a 'Fan-Demic'. Participants in such activity should immediately be tested... or at least seek medical advice!

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
