McLean a natural-born leader

"It's going to be hell for leather when that ball goes down."

Taking nothing away from Bruce, but how can you not love and respect that man?!

He WANTS to be a leader, he craves that responsibility.... I can't wait for him to take over, be it next year, or in 3 years from now.

Finally feeling confident that there is life after Neitz!

Now that's a post (#33). I don't agree with a whole lot of it, but it's well considered and composed. There's no confusion. I won't come on here and hurl sniping little insults at you, or critique your lack of understanding just because I disagree.

Jaded was the only person who responed to my apparently worst post in history ?

i dont see any answers to my questions guys and girs?

BB, that's because there's nothing in your post that warranted a response. At least the one-liners didn't come on and pick every little fault with what you wrote. Those posters aren't going to come on and make a fool out of you because you did it all by yourself.

And u assume he won us the st kilda game?

well let me tell u buddy i was there he did play well, but there was one other player who played just as good.

there is ONE player and ONE player only who deserves it and who has earnt it at this stage.

BRUCE.

Mate, many of us were there, and no, no-one played as well as Brock at the final siren. Have whatever opinion you like. And everyone else will have theirs.

Don't take it personally BB. It often happens here - a reasonably well thought out post seems to confuse some, so let's resort to one-liners.

See above. One liners are sometimes used to highlight a point, not repeat the obvious. And on your later posts, you make some good points. It's one thing to consider the future, another altogether to have a slanging match over who would make the better captain in 12 months time. Neita is the man. As for the future, it's a fanciful subject, most have treated it as such. Those who chuck on a one-liner about who they prefer know that what we say matters not a jot. The footy department will make the final call, and honestly, I'll always prefer Neita, but behind that, I'll take Bruce, Green, Brock and I'd even consider Davey. With the youth coming through like Bate, Jones etc etc I think the captaincy debate could be the kind of thing that'll get everyone on these boards talking for the next 5-10 years!!

But of course there will always be some on this site who will never understand

God forbid we all fail to live up to your idea of "understanding." As far as I can tell, apart from BB, this has all been mostly one opinion vs another. If it's such a trial to come on here are listen to all this "misunderstanding" why bother at all?

Hmmm. Tim, if you're out there in cyberland, I reckon Brock may have done the right thing by you and stitched me up. The crux of my arguement was that he don't get badyly injured, or injured regularly, and that he play well this year. Looks like I've got nowhere to go now eh?

His kicking is what really gets me. Elite players just don't fluff kicks that often!

Still, he might get the job given Brock finds new and exciting ways of hurting himself in the contest :(

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
