As an aside Singapore has had 50,000 plus cases among its foreign worker community due to cramped living conditions but not one death that I know of.

I speak to people in the US, and they wish their govt had invoked similar lockdowns.  

I think people are ignoring how bad it could get by just opening everything up.

I wouldn’t like to be fighting for a ventilator or bed or doctor or nurses attention if the numbers exploded.

Do we have any cases under official (hotel) quarantine in Victoria?  I think the current covid rules don't require home quarantine, just home isolation of which a huge % of +'ve  people aren't doing.

What is 'old' ? Apparently about half of recent cases have been under 40. 

My understanding of 'Active Cases' is Total Infections less Total Recoveries.  Handy website with relevant info.  https://covidlive.com.au/vic

However Active is defined, the relatively high and constant number of cases aren't coming down at a rate that would suggest restrictions will be lifted anytime soon.

It does sound silly. 

We haven't actually had the full whack of the disease. You wouldn't like it if we did, believe me. The cure is pre-emptive.

Protect the vulnerable and open things up.   Locking people in their homes and destroying their immune systems is diabolical, if not evil.

Being who exactly? Obviously not the 20 year old who died yesterday or the 30 year old who died the day before. If that age bracket is starting to die, who exactly are you expecting to be in the 'invulnerable' category?

by 'ready to roll out' I presume he meant the test had been through independent approval process required to determine how reliable it is?

I’m thinking these days that this thing is unstoppable, so the best we can do is invest large in hospitals to deal with the most serious cases and just let the rest of us get it...
