Hi all,

Long time reader, first time poster here. Apologies if this topic has been discussed elsewhere, I don’t know how to search for past topics. As an NT member, I was wondering if anyone knows what our plans are in regards to games up here this year?

I saw news this week about the Dreamtime game being moved up here, which is great for NT fans, but I haven’t heard anything on whether the Dees will be up North sometime this year. I also see that Gold Coast will play an NT match.

It would be disappointing if we didn’t play up here, from a selfish perspective, but also given that Dees have put a lot of time and effort into footy in the Territory.

If anyone has any info, I’d really appreciate hearing. Go Dees

I believe we are keen to play a game in Alice.

But yesterday the NT goverment declared Brisbane a hotspot so restrictive quarantine conditions apply.  So who knows where what will happen.

This thread has more discussion about fixture happenings.

Love your moniker name!

Thanks for the link. I’ll head over there for a read. Hopefully after we finish with the hub in QLD we can find a way to play in NT.

After the two games in Adelaide we could commandeer The Ghan up to Alice and play Collingwood, Fremantle and Essendon. The first two can fly in from Perth together and the Bombers can get the same train down from Darwin. If Gold Coast are also penciled in to play in the top end against someone they could get the same train down and play Collingwood. Essendon and the Pies could each be based at one of the drug and alcohol free communities in the area to keep them out of trouble.

Brilliant.. I'm trying to think of some wonderful name for the extravaganza of football in the red centre.

We could even have a song sung to the tune of Living next door to Alice

You're welcome DJ. There would still be some finer points to iron out I'm sure but it would be a great advertisement for the NT and no tennis court to tempt Bucks within 1,200km.

I'd hate to see if they had our numbers, they'd probably want the place razed to the ground.

The consequences of covid gaining a foothold in the NT are a lot higher than other places though. In most communities, houses are typically shared by upwards of 20 people, and a substantial proportion have significant underlying health problems and limited access to health care. You couldn't design a better environment for a pandemic. Can't say I blame the NT for being conservative with borders!

Yes, have to agree better to be conservative with this virus instead of careless.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
