Such is life as a Melbourne supporter!

Goodwin needs a 50+ points win tomorrow against the Crows and must have a big win against North the following week in order to just start building some sort of credibility.  If the team can manage that, then they might just build enough momentum to get them across the line against the Pies; and if that happens, then he may have saved his skin for the time being.

Yep.

A listless win by 2 or 3 goals against The Crows wont be nearly enough to give him breathing space. If we just fall over the line its almost as bad as a loss for Goodwin. Obviously we will take the 4 points no matter how it comes but a BIG win is what is required tomorrow.

Heaven help us if we lose. No club has a better record of helping the oppo break a losing streak than we do so its a real possibility.

Adelaide will certainly think we are gettable, and so they should.

Take no prisoners.

Meh, considering last week I will take a win by a couple of goals tomorrow night. Just get the job done.

Of course a healthy lead throughout will obviously help with all of our anxiety.

Which year Pates?

Haha it changes my quote a lot but it’s meant to read “watching Melbourne there hasn’t been one year where you can expect every week we will out in a solid performance.”

Sorry, my point actually is that we seem to always put out at least a couple of disgraceful games every year.

I cant see us losing to the Crows, surely? They are awful and probably on the tank. My concern is, even if we win the next two comfortably, we were revert back to the same crap we have watched for a few years. The club has a huge decision to make, I hope they're in Clarko or Ross' ear as we speak.

It's funny. I don't think I'm going to have much anxiety for the rest of this year. We either make the finals or Goodwin's gone. Let's see how we play.

I couldn’t see us losing to Essendon when they were essentially made up of all VFL top up players and yet we did. I never take anything for granted with Melbourne.

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

Melbourne’s slow starts have been a troubling theme for a while. Against the Suns, they started slowly in both of their games, they trailed by 5.7.37 to 0.1.1 at quarter time at Peoples First Stadium in Round 16. This season, the story has remained the same and if the Demons fail to shake off this issue against the unbeaten Gold Coast Suns, they will be in serious danger of capitulating once again in their Easter Sunday showdown.

  • REPORT: Carlton

The text messages started flooding in shortly after quarter time. One read: “Is Melbourne even at the ground?” Moments later, as Carlton’s Elijah Hollands kicked the first goal of the second term, the Blues held a commanding 43-point lead. By then, the Demons’ only score was a behind kicked by Brody Mihocek nearly five minutes into the game. Ironically, Mihocek would also register the last minor score of the day after the game took a dramatic turnaround.
